On a random day of my life .....

YN pov

The sky had darkened, and the rain was now pouring down in thick sheets. I had only stepped out for a quick errand to satisfy my craving for Naengmyeon, but now, I found myself huddling beneath my umbrella, grateful for its cover as I made myway back home. The streets were empty.

As I walked, the sound of heavy footsteps caught my attention. A young man in a black hoodie and mask darted from one side of the street, making a run for cover beneath the overhang of a nearby shop. His hair, soaked and plastered to his forehead, peeked out from under the hood. I slowed down, my eyes following his movements. He looked frustrated, glancing up at the rain as if it had personally offended him.

For a moment, I hesitated. Should I offer him my umbrella? my apartment was just a few minutes away. I could easily make a run for it. But something about the way he stood there, alone, tugged at my heart. I paused, considering the situation. He didn't have an umbrella, and the rain wasn't letting up anytime soon.

I passed him by initially, but a nagging feeling in my chest made me stop in your tracks. Turning on my heels, I called out to him, my voice soft but loud enough to be heard over the rain.

"Excuse me,( jeogiyo) " I said, holding out my umbrella. "Take this. My place is nearby, and I can run the rest of the way."

He looked at me, surprised, but didn't speak. His eyes flickered with hesitation before they dropped to the umbrella I offered. For a brief second, My heart skipped a beat. Something about him seemed familiar-too familiar. my gaze fell to his hand as he reached for the umbrella, and there it was: the tattoo on his right hand.

My breath hitched. The delicate lines and intricate details were unmistakable. My mind raced, and suddenly, I realized who he was.

"Jungkook?" I blurted out, my voice just above a whisper, but loud enough for him to hear.

His hand froze mid-reach, and he quickly pulled it back, tucking it into his hoodie pocket. He turned slightly away, as if trying to hide. But it was too late. I had seen enough.

"I know it's you, Jungkookahh" I said, trying to sound calm and reassuring, though my heart was racing in my chest. "Don't worry, I'm not going to bite you ," I added with a soft laugh, trying to ease the tension.

He stood there, frozen, his face still half-hidden by the mask, but his eyes wide and uncertain.

"Look, my home's really close. Why don't you come inside and dry off? You'll catch a cold if you stay out here like this." I gestured toward the downpour, hoping to convince him.

Jungkook hesitated, glancing around as if weighing his options. He didn't know me and I could see the reluctance in his posture. It wasn't easy for someone like him to trust a stranger, no matter how kind the offer.

I raised my hands, showing him my phone. "Here, have my phone until u go , I don't have anything to record or take photos with. No camera, no videos. If you trust me, I just don't want you to get sick. Please, it's pouring out here."

For a moment, neither of us spoke. The only sound was the relentless pattering of rain around us. Then, slowly, Jungkook nodded, still not saying a word. He Refused to take my phone... which was so sweet of him to believe me ....

I breathed a sigh of relief and motioned for him to follow me . "Let's go( gaja )" and he jumped into the umbrella making we both closer to eachother.

The short walk to my apartment was quiet, the rain now a constant backdrop to the unspoken tension between us. I tried to act normal, even though my heart was pounding, and the reality of the situation was slowly sinking in. Jungkook... is really here with me,under the same umbrella woahhhh.....!

When I arrived at my building, I opened the door and gestured for him to come inside. "Make yourself comfortable," I said, shaking out my umbrella and placing it by the door. Jungkook stepped in, taking in the simple yet cozy atmosphere of my home.

I took his soaked hoodie and jacket, hanging them on a rack near the entrance. "Here," I offered, holding out a pair of pink slippers with prints of flowers . "They're a bit childish right ? but they'll be more comfortable than wet shoes."

He slipped them on without a word, his head still slightly bowed. I led him into the living room, pointing to the small bathroom just down the hall. "You can dry off in there. I'll grab you some clothes."

Jungkook finally spoke, his voice quiet but clear. "Are you... an ARMY?" he asked, his eyes wandering over the photos of Taehyung on the wall.

I smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, of course," I admitted, feeling a little embarrassed that he had noticed your mini Taehyung shrine.

He seemed to relax a little at that, nodding slightly. "I see...," he said softly.

I handed him a fresh set of clothes-newly bought, never worn, still with the tags on them. He looked at them for a moment, then back at me , a slight smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I'll return these."

"No need," I replied with a soft smile. "But, uh... but if u desperately wants to return ...thank you. "
I said by thinking with the help of my devil mini brain ,hoping I could see him again then... haha

With that, he headed to the bathroom, leaving me standing there, still trying to wrap my head around what was happening. Jungkook is in my apartment, I thought to myself, feeling a strange mix of disbelief and excitement.

After a few minutes, Jungkook emerged from the bathroom, now dressed in the comfortable clothes I had given him. He looked... different. More relaxed. The tension in his shoulders had eased, and his wet hair was now towel-dried, falling messily across his forehead.

I noticed that we were both now wearing similar black hoodies. The thought made me smile. "You look good," I said playfully, trying to lighten the mood.

Jungkook chuckled softly, glancing at me with a small smile. "Thanks... you too."

I quickly packed his wet clothes into a bag and handed them to him, setting them aside for when he would leave. "Want something to eat? I bought Naengmyeon on my way home. It's raining, and it feels right to share it with someone."

Jungkook hesitated, as if not wanting to impose further. "I don't want to bother you more..."

I shook my head. "It's no bother. wait I'll ready the dining table .. you can rest a bit " I said as I went to ready the dinner

He chuckled again, this time more freely. "Okay... thanks "

As I was setting the table, Jungkook wandered over to the large window by the sofa, staring out at the now-gentle rain. His expression softened as he gazed at the view, his thoughts clearly elsewhere.

And in that peaceful moment, with the rain quietly pattering against the glass, you realized something: sometimes, the simplest encounters could leave the deepest impressions.
