I watched as Bailey started to cook something else while a slow cooker went in the background, creating smells that had my mouth watering and my stomach to growl.
She looked relaxed while she worked in the kitchen, so sure about herself and what she wanted to make that it wasn't even funny.
Bailey paused in cooking something and looked at me with a raised eyebrow and amusement filled her eyes while she looked at me, and I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in question as well, not knowing what she wanted and why she was looking at me like that.
"Yes?" I asked and cocked my head while I studied her with a small smile on my face. "What can I do for you?"
"What are you staring at, Blake?" she asked and cocked her head to the side while she studied me.
"You," I said and smiled while I tucked my head closer to my chest and kept staring at her, and her cheeks instantly turned red. "I am staring at you, Bay. Is that a crime?"
She shook her head before she turned her attention back to what she was doing, and her cheeks turned another shade of red while she worked. "No," she replied before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "But that doesn't mean you should do it."
"And why not?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I stared at her with a small smile appearing on my lips. "Why can I not stare at my beautiful girlfriend?" I cocked my head to the side and raised an eyebrow in question while I looked at her.
"Girlfriend?" she asked and looked at me with something in her eyes that I didn't know and wasn't sure that I liked, hoping that I would never see it in her eyes again.
I nodded, pressing my lips into a thin line while my cheeks turned red. I didn't say a word while I stared at her and gulped, not knowing why I called her my girlfriend when we never talked about our relationship status or whatever we should call ourselves since we were hopefully together.
"Hmph." She nodded and turned her attention back to whatever it was she was doing with her cheeks turning another shade of red. She didn't say a word and didn't seem to mind that I had called her my girlfriend, even though I couldn't help but be nervous.
"Well?" I asked, finally able to find my voice. I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat while I stared at her with wide eyes filled with nervousness and fear.
"Well, what?" she asked, biting back a small chuckle in her voice. She cocked her head and studied me, raising her eyebrow in question. A small smile appeared on her face while she looked at me, slowly blinking.
"Are you ok with that?" I asked, my cheeks turning another shade of red while I bit the inside of my lip. My heart pounded hard and fast in my chest and jumped into my throat, and I couldn't help but pray that she was fine with it and that I could continue to call her my girlfriend.
"With what?" she asked and raised the eyebrow higher in question. She cocked her head while she continued to study me, biting back a small, amused smile.
Oh God, please help me...
"Are you ok with me calling you my girlfriend, Bailey?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Will you be my girlfriend?" I paused and cleared my throat while I shifted in my seat, not able to look at her. "Do you want to be my girlfriend?"
Oh, please let her say yes, I silently prayed while I gained the courage to look at her to see what she had to say. I stared at her with wide eyes and my cheeks turning another shade of red.
Bailey smiled and nodded, biting back a small chuckle before she cleared her throat and licked her lips. "Ok," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She turned her attention back to what she was doing, cooking something that we were going to eat later that evening.
I raised an eyebrow in question, biting back a small sigh of relief because she verbally didn't confirm that she wanted to be my girlfriend, but that didn't stop my heart from skipping a beat and pounding hard in my chest. "Ok?" I asked and raised the eyebrow higher in question. "What do you mean by ok, Bay?" I got up from my seat and started to walk over to her, making sure to be very careful, especially since she was cooking something hot.
"I will be your girlfriend," she said and slowly nodded. She finished something else before she turned her body toward me, making sure that she did not have anything in her hands. "I want to be your girlfriend and am ok with you calling me your girlfriend."
I bit back a small sigh of relief and slowly nodded, biting back a small smile. "Why do you have to be such a pain in the ass, Bay?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and she shrugged and grimaced with a small smile on her face.
"Because it is fun," she said with a small laugh in her voice, tucking her head closer to her chest.
I pouted and tucked my head closer to my chest while I stared at her with fake tears in my eyes. I bit back a small sniffle and blinked back tears while I looked at her. "But I don't think that it is funny," I said with a small whine in my voice. "So you need to be nice to me."
My girlfriend laughed and shook her head, and I couldn't help but smile while I studied her, cocking my head closer to my chest. "And why should I?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question while her smile grew bigger.
"Because I would like a nice girlfriend," I said with a small wine in my voice, even though I didn't care how she acted, especially since I knew that she was playing with me like I was playing with her.
Bailey's smile grew wider, and mischief filled her eyes while she tucked her head closer to her chest. "Well, it's a good thing that I am already mean and am not a nice person at all, isn't it, Handsome?" she asked and patted my cheek, biting the inside of her lip.
I grabbed her hand before she removed it completely from my face and kissed her hand, earning a small gasp of shock from the female in front of me. "Well, it's a good thing that I know that you are a nice person even with all of this," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
Bailey stared at me with wide eyes and slowly nodded. She gulped and looked me up and down, her eyes turning a darker color while she stared at me, not able to say a word.
I smiled, happy that I left her as speechless as she left me and kissed her hand again before I let her hand go.
Instantly, the female in front of me took a step back to give us some space while her cheeks turned another shade of red, and I couldn't help but feel more pleased with myself for making her feel the way that I felt when I was in her presence.
I was speechless and in love with the way that she acted and how she moved, and I was happy that she let me call her mine even when she didn't need to.
My phone rang from my back pocket, breaking the silence that had fallen on us, and I couldn't help but groan in annoyance because it interrupted the "spell" and peace that had fallen on us.
Bailey blinked and blinked again before she shook her head and rubbed her eyes, composing herself quicker than I had ever seen her do so. She cleared her throat and shifted on her feet, shaking her head again and bit back a small smile on her face. "You might want to answer that, Handsome," she said while she walked over to the sink to wash her hands, tucking her head closer to me. "It might be important."
She finished washing her hands and started to cook again, glancing at me from the corner of her eye while her cheeks slowly started to lose the blush I had created.
I sighed and shook my head, moving a hand through my hair before I did what I was told to do, not liking the fact that someone was calling me and interrupting my time with my girlfriend. I pulled my phone from my pocket without checking the number and answered the phone with a quick, "hello?"
