I finished cleaning the inside of my car, grumbling every so often while I cleaned it. "I am never drinking again," I grumbled while I pursed my lips in annoyance and bit back a small groan. "What the fuck was I thinking?"
"You weren't," someone said with a small chuckle in their voice, and I had a feeling that they shook their head. "You were too busy drowning out your sorrows and regrets as well as your feelings for me."
I pulled my head out of the car and looked that way to see that Bailey was standing there with a glass of lemonade in her hand. I bit back a small smile while I tucked my head closer to my chest, happy to see her and stop for a moment. "Bailey," I greeted.
"Handsome," she replied with a small smile on her face.
I cleared my throat and shifted on my seat while I looked at the cup before I looked at her. "Is that for me?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question. I wiped my hands with the rag that I had been using, grateful that there wasn't any throw up on it before I tossed it into the seat of my car and closed the distance between us.
She nodded in confirmation and watched as I stopped in front of her. "It is," she said and handed it to me. "I thought you were getting a bit thirsty."
"I was," I confirmed and nodded while I took it from her. I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet, looking around before I looked at her again. "How is everything going inside the house?" I asked before I took a sip of the lemonade.
"Good," she said and shrugged while she grimaced. "We finished everything that we needed to get done, and the kids are finished with their homework, so we are ready for Monday."
I nodded. "That's good," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet some more. "I am almost done," I said. "Are you working today?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and she shook her head.
"I do need to go to the store and get some food for dinner and whatever, so we well be leaving here shortly." She paused and looked at the ground before she looked at me again. "Is there anything that you will need?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.
I shook my head no, and my heart grew warm because I had a feeling that she was wondering if she needed to get me something. "My sister and I are going to start sleeping at our house tonight," I said. "I don't know if our parents are going to come home soon, but... ya." I shrugged and grimaced, setting my jaw.
Bailey pressed her lips into a thin line and slowly nodded. "You can still come over and have dinner with us," she said, "and if Sky wants to come here, then she will be able to do that."
"Same goes with Mimi or the other kids," I said. "And if you need some alone time..." I raised both eyebrows in unison while I bit back a small smile. "I can handle them or both Trevor and I can handle them."
Bailey bit back a small laugh and nodded in confirmation. "Ok," she said. "Michael is still not allowed on top of the fridge, though." She flashed me a small wink with a small smile on her face. "But I know how difficult he can be."
I sighed and moved a hand through my hair while I slowly nodded and pursed my lips in annoyance. "Ya, I know," I said. I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet when a thought occurred to me. "Do you think Dalton might be able to watch all of them one time, or at least just Trevor?" I asked, feeling very nervous for some reason.
Bailey raised an eyebrow in question. "What do you mean?" she asked while she cocked her head while she studied me. "Why would you like them to watch over them and not me?"
My cheeks turned red, and I looked down before I looked at her again. "I want to take you out on a date," I said, hesitantly, praying that she would say "yes" about going on a date with me. "I-I don't know when, but I want to go on a date with you, Bay. If you will allow me to take you somewhere."
Her cheeks turned red, and she looked down with a small smile on her face. "I would like that," she said and looked at me again. "I would like to go on a date with you."
I breathed a small sigh of relief, and my shoulders sagged as if the weight of the world was lifted from them. "Good," I said, earring a small laugh from the female in front of me. "I thought you were going to say no."
"Oh?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and a small smile appeared on her face. "Why would I have said no?" She cocked her head and studied me. "I mean, I already told you that I was attracted to you."
I shrugged and grimaced. "Well, you could have been lying," I said, and she rolled her eyes and scoffed a laugh. "I'm serious, Bay," I said. "You could have been lying that you were attracted to me."
"And why would I lie?" she asked and raised the eyebrow higher in question. "I don't have a reason to lie to you, Blake." She shook her head and offered me a small smile. "I am happy that I am attracted to you, and I do like you. I like you a lot."
I bit back a small sigh of relief and slowly nodded, earning a small smile from her. I took another sip of the lemonade she gave me and cleared my throat. "I do want you to know that I do like you a lot too," I said, earning a small smile from her that seemed to light up her whole face. "I am happy that I am attracted to you, too."
She nodded and cleared her throat, growing serious. "So, I am going to go ahead and get to the store. Trevor is with the kids, and they are finishing some project that they wanted to do without my knowledge, and I think they will be in the game room after they are done if you want to join them when you are done with your car."
I nodded and bit the inside of my lip. "Ok," I said. "Will you be joining us when you are done?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question.
Bailey shook her head and smiled. "I think I am going to start cooking dinner because it's going to take a while."
"Why?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "Why is it going to take a while?"
"Because it's going to be some meat that needs to be slow cooked for a bit," she said while she shrugged and grimaced. "Do you need anything from the store?" she asked, changing the subject and raised an eyebrow in question.
I smiled and shook my head, wondering what she was going to be making and if she was going to be making a lot. "No," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "I don't think I need anything from the store. Can I call you if I do need something and you are still there?"
"Sure," she said and nodded. "I'll see you in a bit, Handsome," she said. She looked at the cup in my hand before she looked me in the eyes again with a small smile on her face. "The dishwasher is empty, so if you can put that in there when you are done, then I will be happy."
I bit back a small laugh and nodded. "Ok," I said. "I will go ahead and do that when I am done with my car and finish the lemonade. Thanks again for it. I do appreciate it, Bay."
She smiled and nodded. "Of course," she said.
And with that, she left, leaving me to watch after her with a small sigh of relief and a shake of my head before I turned my attention back to my drink.
God, I loved that girl so much and was so happy that she decided to let me call her mine.
