After a long talk with the lawyers, my dad was able to get full custody of me but Sade was allowed to have visitation. I didn't mind as long as I got to see Maverick and Mia. Mary was a different story. I was waiting for Julius to get here and pick me up. I was in the living room texting my friends planning a sleepover on the weekend. I got a text from Julius letting me know that he was here.

"Grandma I'm leaving." I said walking to the kitchen where she was with Sade.

"Okay, let us walk you out." Sade said.

I grabbed two of my suitcases and my backpack while Sade grabbed my other suitcase. We walked outside and I saw my dad walk out the passenger side of the SUV.

"Daddy, what are you doing here?" I said running to him and we started hugging.

"I came to see you." He said and kissed my forehead as we let go of each other.

"Hey Shawn." Sade said coldly. She was upset that my dad got full custody of me.

"Sade," My dad said in the same tone. "Hey Ruth."

"Hey Shawn." My grandma said while giving my dad a hug.

"Go tell Julius to help you with your bags." My dad told me.

I walked to the car and told Julius to help me with my bags. While he was putting my bags in the trunk, I tried to eavesdrop on my dad and Sade's conversation.

"I don't understand why you just can't let her be with me. You've had her all this time and I think I should have a turn at raising her. She will have a better life if she has a mother figure in her life." Sade said.

"Maybe if you didn't sell our daughter for crack then I would let you have a say in her life." Damn. "Also she's fifteen years old, it's a little too late for you to jump back in her life and try to raise her. And she does have a mother figure, one that actually cares for her wellbeing and doesn't allow some strange ass man rape her."

Sade opened her mouth to say something but my grandma shot her down.

"Sade, go inside." Sade huffed and went inside.

"Thanks for helping me." Julius said with sarcasm.

"You're welcome." I tried to listen to my grandma and dad's conversation but they spoke in hushed voices. After a while, I gave up and went inside the car. After a few minutes went by, my dad got inside the car.

11:43 am

I walked into the penthouse looking for my mom and Blue but I couldn't find them.

"Dad, where is mom and Blue?" I asked.

"They will be gone for a while." My dad said looking uncomfortable.

"Where they go?"

"Let's put your luggage in your room," He says, dodging the question, "so we can go out for brunch with your Gigi."He said, referring to his mom.

As we entered my room, I noticed a note on my bed. My dad left my room and  I picked it up and read it.

Welcome back Lynny, I missed you so much. Call me as soon as you read this.
                    Love, B

I grabbed my phone and called my mom. After a few rings, she answered the phone.

"Hey baby, are you home?"

"Hey mom, I just got here. Where are you and Blue?"

"How about we talk about it over dinner?"

"Sure."

7:37 pm

Julius had dropped me off at the Ritz-Carlton and I was in the lobby waiting for my mom.

"Lynny!" I heard my mom call my name. I turned my head to the reception and saw her walking towards me. "Hey baby." She said, pulling me into a hug. She let go of me and we made our way to the elevator. We entered the elevator and she started talking. "How was your stay at Sade's?"

"Terrible." I say instantly. We got out of the elevator and started walking to her room. We made it to her room and I saw my grandma, Bey's mom, playing with Blue on the couch.

"Hey Brook, how you doin'?" She asked.

"Hey grandma, I'm doing good now."

"That's good," She said. "The food is gonna be here any minute by the way."

"Let's go to the dining room so we can talk." My mom said.

We walked to the dining room and sat down.

"So what's going on with you and dad?"

"Brooklyn, I'm not gonna sit here and act like nothing is wrong with your father and I. You're old enough to know so I'm going to tell you. But I don't want your perspective to change on your father after I tell you this." She paused for a moment before continuing. "Your dad has been cheating on me."

9:28 pm

After dinner and spending time with my mom, I finally made it home. I was in the kitchen, eating a honey bun and watching vines when my dad walked in.

"Hey princess, how was dinner with B?" He asked.

"Good." I say just above a whisper, not looking at him in the eye. "Can I have a sleepover with my friends the whole weekend?"

"Sure. You're gonna be starting school on Monday by the way. " He said.

"Cool."

Silence fell in the room and the only talking was from mighty duck as I played his vines. After a while, my dad began to speak again.

"Did she tell you what happened?"

"Yeah."

"Are you mad at me?"

"No, just disappointed."
