*Addie's POV*

I turn over in my bed and am met with the sight of Billie asleep, soft snores coming from her barely parted lips. My god she is stunning.

She turns onto her back and my eyes drift down to her neck and collarbone.

Did we? No. I would have remembered.

But fuck, her porcelain skin decorated with marks from my lips, is so hot to me.

And then it hits me, the migraine that's building in my skull. I internally groan and reach over to my bedside table and open the drawer.

I take the medication bottle out and give it a shake. No fucking way... I'm out of excedrin again great.

I decide to let Billie sleep while I drag myself out of bed. I give Milo some pets as I head to the kitchen to fill up his food bowl.

I need to get meds and I'll bring back breakfast I suppose, except I'm not super hungry at the moment.

I slip on some clothes and step into my shoes before texting Billie that I went out to get breakfast. I grab my sunglasses and keys and head down to the corner store.

I browse through the aisles until I find a bottle of Excedrin. I pop two in my mouth and dry swallow them before taking it up to the counter to pay for it.

"Rough morning already?" The cashier asks.

"My chronic migraines would say yes." I sigh out.

"Felt that. Well, I mean I don't get migraines but I do get chronic pain." She says as she rings me up.

"Yeahhh, hey do you know any good breakfast spots close by, I'm picking up some for my girlfriend before I go back home." I ask her.

She gives me a smile. "That's fucking adorable. Yeah girly, there's a spot just around the corner that does insanely good vegan empanadas, I'm actually going there when I get off of work." She tells me.

I chuckle. "I'm absolutely sold! Thanks... uh."

"Fiona. I'll see you around Addie." She gives me a nod.

"Wait how do you-" I start but she cuts me off.

"You live in the Murphy building yeah? 3B I think, I'm in 3D just down the hall, I literally see you every morning. Most of the time you keep to yourself though." She explains.

I give her a puzzled look. "Yeah, I don't mean to be standoff-ish..."

"It's cool, lemme know how breakfast turns out next time you're in, and good luck with the migraines."

"Will do, thanks again." I take my leave and head to go pick up breakfast for Billie.

"Broooo where did these come from? They're so fucking good baby." Billie gushes with her mouth full.

I giggle at her goofiness. "A local Puerto Rican spot a couple blocks away, oddly enough the girl from the corner store recommended it." I admit.

"She has good taste. Wait, baby have you had breakfast?" She asks.

"I have something on my stomach, I'm fine." I half lie. Excedrin totally counts as being food if you feel bad enough.

She hums in response and I finally take the time to make myself a cup of coffee.

"What are your plans for today?" I ask her.

"Mmm I have work in a little bit but I'll be off around 4 if you wanted to go do something later. Also feel free to stop by and visit, our rescues could use a little love, and by rescues I mean me." She gives me a toothy grin.

I set my coffee down on the table and lean over, taking her face into my hands and kissing her. "You are not a rescue, but you are really fucking cute. I hope you know that. Also, did anything happen last night?"

"No not really." She recalls. "I came home with you from the bar, Finneas told me you had stopped by. Then you were very... affectionate, and I wanted you to be sober before anything got carried away." She admits.

"You're very sweet, but lucky for you I'm sober now." I tip her chin up to kiss her again, this time with fervor.

She kisses me back and tugs on the shirt I'm wearing before pulling back abruptly.

"What did I do something wrong?" I ask a little hurt.

"No baby, I just need to leave for work soon." Billie gives me a sad look.

"Well don't make plans for lunch, I'll come visit." I give her a smile and her eyes light up.

"Really?"

"Yeah I'll pick up lunch and stop by if it's okay?" It comes out more like a question, and I take a sip of coffee to make myself not seem like an idiot.

"Absolutely, let me know when you're on your way and I'll make sure I'm caught up at work." She takes the last few bites of food. "Ok baby, I've gotta head out but text me."

She grabs her things and slips out, practically running down the hall.

I finish my coffee and realize I have nothing else aside from lunch plans to do today. I really should have gotten two of those empanada things, my stomach is angry with me.

You know what, I'll just go back.

A few minutes later and I'm staring at the menu again waiting for my turn to order.

"Long time no see Addie." A familiar voice giggles and pulls me from my state of staring into the void.
