*Billie's POV*
"Yo play that back, can we add that weird hi-hat thing you recorded?" I ask Finneas as he clacks away on his keyboard.
"Oooo I like the way you think." A few keystrokes later and it's in place.
"This is stupid goofy and I'm here for it. Post that shit on the internet." I tell him knowing nothing will ever come of it. We're just blowing off steam right?
"Done." He says with the most serious face. All of a sudden we both burst out laughing from the absurdity of it all.
I lean back on the couch and ponder things for a bit. A sense of guilt wells up in me, as if I'm doing something wrong just by sitting here. My mind reels at the thought of Addie and Fiona together right now. What could she possibly have that I don't?
Wait, why the fuck am I jealous?

*Addie's POV*
"Thanks again for spending the evening with me and a bunch of other nerds." I tell Fiona.
Damien playfully nudges me. "You know we're more than just nerds."
Fiona flashes him a smile. "I dunno are you buddy?" Her tone a little mocking, in a daringly cute way.
"Oh daddy long legs over here has jokes." He taunts her, taking a long sip from his drink.
She jabs her pointer finger into his chest. "See this finger..." her tone callous but playful. "I guarantee you it's gotten more pussy than your micro dick."
In that moment I watch the light leave his eyes, not because of what she said, but because what she said was true. Then I see his eyes go dark.
"Fuck you." He storms off to go nurse his bruised ego.
Fiona turns her attention back to me. "Men are gross, misogynistic pigs."
"That was... interesting to say the least." I giggle.
"Oh well tell me how you really feel." She grins. "Hey, so I'm thinking, skip out go do something actually fun because this..." she says gesturing to the room. "Is not it."
I set my drink down on the bar top and hand the bartender some money. "Sold. What did you have in mind?"
"Come with me." She takes my hand and leads us outside into the cool night air. "I found this place the other week and have become obsessed with the view."
I follow her through a back alley, into the backdoor of what seems to be an abandoned building and up some stairs, still unaware of where she's taking me.
Then, everything comes into focus. The twilight hue on the horizon, streetlights and headlights down below, the bustling night life crowd. It's so, vibrant.
"How did you find this place?" I ask her as she's just taking in the view.
"Honestly, I was looking for a quiet place to record some vocals and this had the perfect amount of reverb that I was looking for... and then I saw the view and was hooked." She sighs and leans over the edge of the busted out window.
I give her a quirky smile. "Your apartment wasn't good enough?"
"And let my neighbors hear me in my bathroom, no thank you. They probably already hate me enough because I'm constantly making noise, let's not add belting in my shower to the list." She says closing her eyes. "Besides this just felt right."
I don't know if she means the space, the view, or this moment. But either way, I'm not complaining.
I don't realize I'm staring until her voice breaks the silence. "I can literally feel you staring a hole into the side of my face." Fiona's eyebrow raises.
"What I'm admiring the view." I smirk.
"That was cheesy, don't do it again." She says avoiding my gaze. I could swear I hear her say 'or do' but I don't question it.
"Well I'm starving, I'm thinking takeout this Halal place if you're down?" I ask.
"Sure, but I can't come over, I have homework to do that I've been procrastinating for a minute." She admits.
"Well I'm paying, for subjecting you to my shitty coworkers." I tell her as we descend into the dark stairwell.

*Fiona's POV*
"Thanks again for dinner, and for letting me join you for your award thing. I had a lot of fun tonight. Maybe we can have a movie night or something soon, or take my pup to the dog park and let her frolic." I say as Addie and I part ways in the hallway.
"Absolutely, I'm down for all of the puppy love."
I gasp and pretend to be hurt. "But not my love? I'm offended."
"I mean your dog is cuter...goodniiiiiiiiight." She says as she goes into her apartment.
I unlock my door and greet my dog. "Hi sweet baby, I missed you." I set my things down and kick my shoes off before getting ready to dig into dinner while I do my homework.
Except there's a knock at the door.
I chuckle to myself.
"Addie I have homework, I can come over after if you missed me that much." I say opening the door. "I-..."
a/n: short filler ch, fight meeeeeeeee.
who's at the door? Is it Addie? 👀
Also considering going back to school, or finding another job, I'm less than thrilled where I'm at tbh. It's just not the vibe anymore.
I lub you bubbies 🥰💕😘
