Chapter 20: Too Spicy

Ji Chenxi left with a strong scent of pheromones. Even though he had just done something almost enough to make Chi Zhuo hate him, the pheromones that followed still clung to Ji Chenxi.

The pheromones, which should have been forceful and aggressive, instead gave off a hint of grievance.

Previously, Ji Chenxi had been stingy with his pheromones, unwilling to release even a bit more. Now, he actively released some pheromones.

The slightly wilted tequila pheromones on Ji Chenxi came to life instantly, blending with the rose fragrance and eventually turning into a familiar sweet wine scent.

Ji Chenxi chuckled lightly and didn't rush to leave. He lingered outside to let the scent dissipate.

He was even curious about the fusion of pheromones. After all, between alphas, pheromones are usually either suppressed or rejected. How could there be a possibility of fusion?

If he had the tools, he would have wanted to extract some for further study.

The pheromone scent didn't dissipate quickly. At this point, Ji Chenxi probably had not just his clothes but even his hair carrying another person's scent.

Running his tongue over the marking teeth, Ji Chenxi was certain that the tequila scent on the teeth was indeed milder compared to the first marking.

Halfway through, the scent on him showed no sign of fading; instead, it became increasingly sweet.

Ji Chenxi regretted not bringing a scent neutralizer. If he had that, he could just spray it and return to enjoy his wine.

Or he could have taken the unfinished bottle of wine with him. But since he had marked one flavor of wine, it would have been a bit inappropriate to take away another flavor right in front of people.

Ji Chenxi laughed lightly, blowing away the warmth from his body with the night breeze.

He found a secluded corner, sat on a wooden chair pretending to rest, and planned to leave after the event ended. Unexpectedly, he noticed someone passing by.

Ji Chenxi opened his eyes and stopped the person heading in a certain direction.

"Anran," Ji Chenxi greeted with a smile, "What a coincidence!"

Bai Anran noticed the silver-haired alpha sitting on the chair and was first stunned by his cheerful smile. Then, he responded politely, "Your Highness, good day."

Ji Chenxi's gaze slightly lowered, responding lightly.

Bai Anran took another look at the silver-haired young man who was even more beautiful than an omega under the moonlight and was about to take his leave. Before he continued towards his destination, Ji Chenxi, who had no desire to converse earlier, called out to Bai Anran.

"Anran, don't go that way."

Bai Anran glanced towards that direction, didn't ask why, and agreed.

The last time they met was awkward, with Ji Chenxi trying to break the ice between Bai Anran and Chi Zhuo by initiating conversation. This time, the interaction felt similarly awkward, as if they wanted to say something but couldn't find the right topic.

Between them, they could be considered familiar strangers.

Stopping Bai Anran from heading towards Chi Zhuo's vulnerable period, Ji Chenxi expected Bai Anran to choose a different direction. To his surprise, Bai Anran proactively started a conversation, "Your Highness, you seem to be in a good mood today."
