I hadn't thought of telling anyone about my loss of mother and how it affected me over the years.

They say once a dearest family member dies,it's normal to cry or to keep their spiritual souls alive when your remember them by as they enter the after life. But for me it was difficult for me to move on because I never knew who killed mother but I was told by father a human had killed her and just like that,father and I stopped talking.

I had force shifts everyday when her funeral past when I was twelve years old,I wouldn't eat,sleep nor see anyone from eye to eye.

The blow was so serious that's I had to have a grudge against humans. I had declared a war when father insisted aswell. I wanted the weak humans dead.

But now seeing Scarlet made it seem I needed to tell her. You can't always hold on to the past till you tell someone about it to move forward.

"Your mother died. I'm so sorry to hear that." Her sad voice fills my ears.

"It's complicated really." I clench my fists.

Scarlet places her hand on my fists. I gaze over and her sparkling brown eyes said it all. She wants to comfort me.

"You seem tensed up. You know its alright not to tell me what happened,I'm sure time will come." She says camly as her hand got warmer,I unfist my hands and held her.

"No,you have to know aswell." I sigh.

"I'm all ears." She smiles.

I hesitated because I did something that will probably upset Scarlet.

"I know you don't really know what caused the war against humans and shifters years ago. The reason why it happened was because my mother died and I was so angry I declared a war with my father because he found out mother was interacting with them without him noticing." I explained to her.

Scarlet's face frowns.

"You declared the war on us." She muffles. "How could you." She turns away from me.

I got up to my feet and kneeled infront of her. "Look,I hadn't known what was the outcome when I met my mate to be human. Now I have realised it was a terrible mistake from the very beginning she died." I replied. I sense her emotions about to burst with tears.

"Scarlet." I call her and she looks upto me.
"I'm fine. Everything seems to our fault since she died." She muffles.

"Which is why I strongly apologise for things I did." I wasn't this pleading to a human but I'm glad it's mate alone.

"So many lives died." She said quietly.

"I want to help in return. I want to become a better me." I beg her.

"Okay." Her reply cold.

I get up to my feet,the talk wasn't heading anywhere and I blame myself for it for starting it in the first place.

"Maybe...my past is too much for after how I have treated you over the past week since you came into my life." I continued, "I will give you some space." It was the right decision right now.

I walk away but Scarlet held my arm.

"No. I want to understand why your mother was talking to a human in the first place. Maybe it's the reason why we are mates in the first place,to find answers to our broken pasts." She sounded so grown up. It delighted me so much that I pulled her to my chest.

"It warms me you want to draw me closer than ever." I smile but it vanished. " I honestly don't know what happened and why she spoke to a human or humans,father only told me about her death and cause...that's all." Scarlets glare seemed confused.
