Mayor Alice Guo was popular in the tiny town of Bamban because of her commitment, and charm Wesley, her younger brother, was the easygoing joker in town who was often getting into trouble. Alice found herself watching Wesley's phone one bright day as he washes their dishes.
She came upon a message from Wesley's best friend, Y/N, as she was going through his messages. A naughty smile appeared on her face.
She typed, pretending as Wesley, "Hey, you." "What's up?"
She was surprised when Y/N answered right away, "Hoy! matagal ko na tong sabihin 'to eh..."
Alice continued typing, curious, "What's that?"
Y/N hesitated for a moment before sending a long message. "Okay, medyo weird 'to for you, pero crush ko talaga si sister mo na si Mayor Alice. She's just so passionate about everything she does, and I love how she genuinely cares about the community. I always thought she was so cool, and sometimes I find myself wishing I could get to know her better. Pero wala eh! sa kasamaang palad ikaw pa talaga naging kaibigan ko, pwede namang sya nalang"
Alice felt her heart skip a beat. For quite some time, she had been quietly admiring Y/N because she's a very humorous person. She was happy when Y/N reciprocated her admiration.
"My sister is really cool, I have no doubt about that." Alice replied, trying not to laugh. "You should totally ask her out!"
After a little pause, Y/N replied, sounding obviously confused. "Are you serious? Wes, pinagtitripan mo ba ako?"
Alice made the decision to carry out the prank a little bit longer. "No, really! You two would definitely get along!"
"Oh my goodness, I can't believe you said that!" Y/N answered, "If only I could get to know her in person. But mayor sya! With an ordinary person like me, why would she possibly want me?"
Wesley returned, stopping Alice in what was happening. "What's happening with my phone?"
"Just sending along some good advice to your closest friend," Alice said, returning the phone to him.
Wesley's eyes grew wide as he stared at the screen. "You've been texting Y/N?! Ate, you cannot simply do that to her!"
"Oops!" Alice said, trying to seem innocent. "I thought it was fun and harmless!"
Although Wesley rolled his eyes, he couldn't help but smile. "You realize that Y/N might have taken you seriously, don't you?"
Wesley's phone buzzed with a message from Y/N before Alice could reply. "Sorry kung rant ako ng rant sayo, Wes! I didn't mean to act weirdly towards your sister. Ano lang kasi... ang cute nya lang kasi hehe. Fuck, forget everything I've said about your sister"
Wesley was still scrolling through their conversation when Alice replied, "You should just tell her the truth."
Days went by, and Alice's excitement increased. She would occasionally catch herself thinking about Y/N and wishing they could hang out, as Y/N had wanted. She started to get serious about the idea of really meeting Y/N in person.
Wesley eventually sent an invitation to Y/N for dinner, hinting slightly that Alice would be present.
He looked at his watch. "All right, give it a little more time," he said to himself. The air was heavy with the scent of herbs and garlic, lending even more coziness to the small kitchen.
Just as planned, Alice entered wearing a basic white t-shirt and a denim jacket. She had her hair down. Her eyes brightened at seeing all of the flowers as she scanned the kitchen. "Whoa, Wes! Is this for your girlfriend? She raised an eyebrow in joke.
