Shanaya's POV

The day had finally arrived—her first class at Singhania Institute of Computer. Shanaya could barely contain her excitement as she stood outside the grand building, gazing at the modern architecture and the huge sign that read "Singhania Institute of Computer" in bold letters. This was it, the place where her dreams would begin to take shape.

“Aaj ka din toh bohot special hai,” she thought to herself, adjusting her bag strap. The air buzzed with energy as students, old and new, hurried in and out of the building. This institute had a reputation, not just for its high fees but for the quality of education it provided. It was known for making careers, and Shanaya was determined to be one of its success stories.

“Singhania Institute ke fees toh high hain, par agar ek IT expert banna hai toh yeh invest karna padhega,” she reassured herself, walking inside with her head held high.

As she made her way through the corridors, she could feel the nerves bubbling inside her, but the excitement was stronger. “Aaj se mera safar shuru ho raha hai,” she whispered to herself, a smile tugging at her lips.

She found her way to her classroom and entered, eyes scanning the spacious room filled with computers and whiteboards. A few students were already there, chatting and settling in. Shanaya quickly found a seat near the middle, wanting to be close enough to the front without standing out too much.

Just as she placed her bag on the desk, a bubbly girl with short, wavy hair plopped down next to her.

"Hi, I’m Navya!" she said cheerfully, offering her hand.

"Hi, I’m Shanaya," she replied, shaking Navya’s hand. She instantly liked Navya’s friendly vibe.

"New here too?" Navya asked.

"Yeah, first semester. Tum?"

"Same, first year. Waise Singhania Institute mein admission milna aasan nahi hai, huh?" Navya said, raising her eyebrows with a grin.

Shanaya nodded. "Exactly! It’s been my dream to study here. The teachers, especially Dhruv Sir, are amazing. Everyone says he’s a genius when it comes to computers."

Navya’s eyes sparkled. "Aur handsome bhi! I heard he’s super strict though."

They both laughed, already bonding over their shared anticipation. Shanaya was about to ask Navya more about her background when the bell rang, signaling the start of class. Students hurriedly took their seats, the low chatter of excitement filling the room.

"Dhruv Sir ka lecture hai ab," someone behind Shanaya whispered. There was an undercurrent of excitement, mixed with a little nervousness, in the air.

"I’ve heard he’s a perfectionist," another voice chimed in. "Par brilliant teacher hai."

Shanaya couldn’t help but feel a mix of nerves and curiosity. "Let’s see if he lives up to the hype," she muttered to Navya, who nodded in agreement.

The door opened and, just like that, the room fell into silence.

Dhruv's POV

As Dhruv walked into the classroom, he immediately sensed the shift in the atmosphere. The soft hum of student chatter dissolved into complete silence as all eyes turned toward him. He had grown used to it—this quiet acknowledgment of his presence—but it still gave him a sense of control, a reminder that he was here not just to teach but to lead.

"Good morning, everyone," he greeted the class, his deep voice steady and professional.

"Good morning, Sir," the students replied in unison.

Dhruv placed his tablet on the desk and glanced around the room. He always made it a point to assess his students on the first day—their expressions, their body language, their preparedness. Most of them looked either eager or anxious, the typical emotions he was used to seeing.

"Aaj hum basic se shuru karenge, lekin main yeh expect karta hoon ki aap log serious hain. Is course mein time pass nahi chalega," Dhruv said firmly, his eyes scanning the rows of students.

He noticed one student sitting in the middle row, scribbling notes as soon as he started speaking. Her head was bent down, but there was something about her focus that caught his attention.

"Kya naam hai iska?" he thought, but quickly pushed the thought aside. He had no time for distractions. This was his institute, his legacy, and he was here to ensure that every student left with the knowledge and skills they came for.

For the next hour, he dove deep into the introductory lesson, explaining the basic concepts of programming and how it would form the foundation for everything they would learn going forward. As he spoke, he noticed that same girl answering almost every question, her hand shooting up confidently before anyone else had a chance.

"You, what's your name?" he asked suddenly, pointing in her direction.

"Shanaya Oberoi, Sir," she replied, her voice steady and clear.

"Good. Keep it up," he said with a nod, returning to his lecture. But as he continued speaking, he found himself glancing in her direction more often than he intended. She was bright—there was no denying that—and her passion for learning was evident.

"Yeh ladki toh kuch alag lagti hai," he thought to himself, surprised by the attention she was drawing from him. It wasn't like him to be distracted by a student. But there was something about her—something he couldn't quite place.

Stop it, Dhruv, he reminded himself. Tumhara focus sirf ek cheez pe hona chahiye—tumhare kaam pe. Is business ko aage badhana hai, bas.

But still, as the lecture went on, he found it hard to ignore her. Aisa kyun ho raha hai? he wondered. She was just another student, yet there was something that set her apart. The way she was so engrossed in the subject, the confidence with which she spoke—it intrigued him.

The class continued without any interruptions, and by the end, Dhruv wrapped up the lesson with a few final instructions.

"Yeh assignment kal tak submit hona chahiye. I expect nothing less than perfection," he said, his tone firm.

The students began packing up, whispering among themselves, but Dhruv’s thoughts lingered on Shanaya. He knew he needed to stay focused, but for the first time in a long while, something—or rather, someone—had managed to distract him.

"Let’s see how things unfold," he muttered under his breath, as he left the classroom, already mentally preparing for the next challenge ahead.
