The days following Dhruv's romantic proposal had been like a dream for Shanaya. The secret meetings, the stolen glances in class, and the playful moments at the institute had only intensified their bond. But as much as they tried to keep their relationship discreet, there was a playful side to both of them that made it hard to maintain their composure.

It was a rainy afternoon, and Shanaya sat in her flat, pretending to focus on her studies. Her phone buzzed, and a small smile crept onto her face when she saw Dhruv’s name on the screen.

Dhruv: "Kya kar rahi ho, Miss Oberoi?"

Shanaya rolled her eyes, unable to hold back her grin. He always called her "Miss Oberoi" when he was in a teasing mood.

Shanaya: "Aapko kya lagta hai? Obviously studying! Unlike someone who’s probably just lounging around in his fancy office."

A minute later, another message popped up.

Dhruv: "Oh, I see. The hardworking student. But do you really think you can concentrate without thinking about me? 😏"

Shanaya’s eyes widened. "Oh, he’s in a mood today," she thought, biting her lip to stifle her laughter.

Shanaya: "Why would I think about you? Mujhe toh sirf exams ki tension hai."

She sat back, waiting for his response, knowing fully well what was coming next. Her phone buzzed again.

Dhruv: "Really? Exams? Kyunki last time jab hum mile the, tumhara concentration kuch aur hi direction mein tha..."

Her cheeks turned pink as she remembered their last meeting at his villa, where they had spent hours together, talking, watching movies, and sharing quiet moments that felt too perfect to be true.

Shanaya: "Shut up! That was just... ugh! You're impossible."

Her heart raced as she typed the words, the playful tension between them crackling through the screen.

Dhruv: "Impossible? Tumne toh mujhe 'most charming man' kaha tha when we were dancing. Or was that just the wine talking?"

Shanaya blushed at the memory of the prom night, where their chemistry had reached a whole new level during the dance. She couldn’t deny how much she was attracted to him, and the way he teased her now only made it worse.

Shanaya: "Wine ka toh pata nahi, but you are pretty distracting, Mr. Singhania."

Dhruv: "Distraction toh tum ho. Aaj class mein bhi tum par hi focus tha... aur kisi student ka naam bhi yaad nahi raha."

Shanaya laughed out loud. She could almost hear his voice saying that, the deep timbre and teasing tone that always made her heart skip a beat.

Shanaya: "Focus? Aur tumhe lagta hai, mere dimaag mein aaj kal tumhare alawa kuch aur hota hai? Seriously!"

Dhruv: "Hmmm... toh main sirf tumhare dimaag mein hoon? Aur dil mein? Wahan ka kya?"

Shanaya bit her lip, her heart racing at the directness of his question. He had a way of turning every conversation into something deeper, something more intense.

Shanaya: "Dil ka pooch rahe ho? Usme toh tum full-time occupy ho, Dhruv. Happy?"

Dhruv: "Bahut. Aur tum? Tumhe kya chahiye?"

Her breath caught at the question. There was something thrilling about the way he asked her things, as if he always wanted to know what was going on in her mind. It made her feel vulnerable, but in a way that excited her.

Shanaya: "Maybe you... right here with me."

It was a bold statement, and she waited nervously for his reply.

Dhruv's POV

Dhruv sat at his office desk, staring at Shanaya's last message, a grin forming on his face. He could imagine her sitting there, flustered and excited. It was always like this between them—electric, intense, but playful. He loved how she could challenge him with her wit, even when they were miles apart.

Dhruv: "Careful what you wish for, Miss Oberoi. I might just show up and make you forget about those exams."

He could picture her rolling her eyes at the message, pretending to be irritated but secretly enjoying every moment of their conversation.

Shanaya’s POV

Shanaya blushed again, her pulse quickening as she read his message. She imagined him walking through her door, that intense look in his eyes that always made her knees weak.

Shanaya: "Oh please! Tum aa bhi gaye toh kya karoge? Mujhe studies mein help karoge?"

Her phone buzzed almost immediately.

Dhruv: "Studies mein help karna bhi toh ek tareeka hota hai... distraction se door le jaane ka."

Her face burned at his implication. He had this uncanny ability to make her heart race with just a few words. But two could play this game.

Shanaya: "Pehle distraction tum ho, aur phir keh rahe ho ke door le jaoge? You’re confusing, Mr. Singhania."

There was a pause before his next message came in.

Dhruv: "Confusing toh nahi, lekin tumhe sambhalne ke liye mere paas kaafi tareeke hain. Do you really want to test me?"

Her breath hitched as she read the message, her mind racing with possibilities. Before she could reply, her phone rang. It was Dhruv.

She answered, trying to sound casual. "Haan? Kya hai?"

"Kya hai? Seriously, Shanaya?" Dhruv’s voice was teasing, deep, and just hearing him speak sent a shiver down her spine. "So, tumhe meri methods pe doubt hai?"

Shanaya bit her lip, trying to suppress a smile. "Mujhe kisi cheez ka doubt nahi hai. Tum bas overconfident ho."

"Main bas confident hoon, Miss Oberoi. Overconfident tumhe lagta hai because... I know exactly how to get you distracted."

His voice lowered, and Shanaya could feel her heart beating faster. The tension between them was almost palpable, even over the phone.

"Tum yeh baat kabhi samajh nahi paaogi," she said, trying to sound nonchalant but failing miserably.

"Mujhe laga tum kaafi samajhdar ho," Dhruv replied, his tone teasing. "Lekin koi baat nahi, waqt ke saath sab kuch clear ho jayega."

"We'll see," Shanaya whispered, her voice betraying the thrill she felt.

The call ended, but the lingering tension stayed in the air, the playful back-and-forth only adding to the excitement of their growing relationship. Both of them knew that things were changing between them, and while they played it light, the emotions bubbling beneath the surface were undeniable.
