Just your normal day in the Obsidian Abyss with the Crystallis Overlord, Malachra, Onyxar and Crysonis, for like the 60th century.

The Overlord sat on his throne, pondering to himself, "where did I go wrong? Oh wait- I didn't." He shot shadows at the three generals bowing before him. "You three did."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a gem, not a Crystallis Shard.. yet. He held it in his palm and covered it with his other hand, Void Gem energy glowing around it before he threw it and it expanded into a monster.

The dark-skinned, ugly monster did a little spin with a ta-da sign. "Nocturnis here, who're we destroying?"

"Welcome, Nocturnis.." The Overlord smirked.

At the Crystallis chamber, the five rangers were holding their Crystallis Arsenal Weapons, but not morphed, trying to control their elements without being morphed. Constant grunts and sighs were heard. Kai, Leo and Zara were sparring with each other while Conners and Damien sparred with themselves.

"How is it fair that I got a long range weapon and these two got short range?"

Professor Lithon answered from the sidelines. "That's one of the many secrets of the light element, Zara. Ponder on that."

Kai landed a blow into her bow while Leo almost smacked the teeth out of Kai's mouth with his hammer.

Kai yelled, "Why does Leo get the lethal weapon?"

Zara sighed. "Just give me a-" Her bow started to glow. Damien and Conners stopped to look. The bow turned into a two-pointed spear. "Oh, now this is cool." She started attacking Kai and Leo with her spear.

"Rangers, channel your elements. Don't worry, here your bodies cannot be harmed by the elements or weapons." Alara called.

Conners smirked. "Good to know." He spun his trident in a circle, creating a huge tornado of water, overtaking Damien.

"This is my style." Leo laughed, slamming his hammer on the ground, generating a rock from thin air, sending it at Zara.

Zara ducked and generated a bazooka out of pure light. "I'll show you style." She started blasting at Leo and Kai.

Kai used his staff to block the light bullets before raising it up, creating a whirlwind of flames around the tip, shooting it at Leo and Zara, who both ducked.

Damien raied his katana, focusing hard on the shadows, trying to make a calm circle of shadows around his katana blade, which he lost control of, shooting out at his teammates, one grabbing Kai and slamming him into a bookshelf, another punching Conners in the face, one sliding under Leo's leg and holding him upside down while Zara ducked out of one's way.

"Damien, could you not kill us?" She screamed over the noise, while Lithon remained quiet.

Damien kept trying to concentrate, his eyes shut tight.

Alara called, "Rangers, morph!"

Leo yelped. "You heard her!"

The four rangers pulled out their Shards and inserted them into their Brace slots. They pressed the red button and pressed down on the Shards.

"Power Within, Crystalize!"

A light of each ranger's respective color glowed around them, fading away, revealing their suits. The shadows started to seep away.
