2.Tragedy

"She is Park Ha-eun?" sun asked shocked, "Yes, Your highness. She is from the Park clan." They just returned to his quarters after the wedding ceremony and the banquet, "How old is she?" sun asked, "Her highness is 16, how could you forget your own wife's age?" Eunuch Hong said trying to stop him from asking any further questions, "Ah, yes, I forgot about that" sun said with embarrassment as he realized he was asking way to many questions about his wife.

"Bring in his highness's court rode"Eunuch Hong ordered the other junior Eunuchs, "My court rode? Why do I need to wear my court rode at this hour" sun asked as it evening and also didn't have his lesson to attend. "Your highness, you have to go to her highness's quarter" Eunuch Hong explained.

"Isn't the consummation date pushed back until I become an adult" sun asked confused "Yes, it is. You have to go because her majesty  has arranged a tea ceremony for the two of you" Eunuch Hong said while putting the rode on sun. "Ah, I see" sun's head hanging low in embarrassment and face as red a tomato.

Sun stared at Ha-eun who was busy pouring tea on his cup, "Here you go, Your highness" she said handing the cup to him. He took the cup and sat there akwardly.

A few minutes later he finally mustered up the courage to say something, "How old are you?" "I am 16 years old, Seson-mama" she slightly bowed to him.

"Do you remember me?" He asked nervously thinking she might remember him, "No, Your highness." Her voice filled with politeness unlike the other day where she was desperate. "You don't remember me? How could you not remember such an handsome face" he said in disbelief, "Have we met before, Your highness?" She was confused as to why he was asking her that. "No, we have never met it's just you looked familiar" he said, his voice filled with disappointment.

"What's that? That's a really unusual hairpin" he said pointing at the hairpin that he found for her which was now inserted in her bun. "This?" She said taking out the pin, "This is a hairpin passed down by my mother, i had it turned into a bun ornament" she looked at the pin with longing eyes.

"It's seem extremely precious to you, I hope I am just as precious to you" his words shocked her. she looked at him, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Sorry, that was probably a lame joke" he said giggling. seeing him giggle also brought a smile to her face, she looked down flustered.

"Chae-rin, please come out. You need to eat something" lady Hong, chae-rin's mother pleaded her to come out of her room. For weeks she hasn't eaten properly.

After not succeeding lady Hong came back to the dinner table where everyone was waiting for her, "She is still not coming out?" Min Gang-seong, the minister of war asked concerned about his daughters health.

"No, she doesn't want to come out" lady Hong said with her head hanging low. "Aunt, should I go and try" Min ja-yeon, chae-rin's cousin asked. Ja-yeon father, chae-rin's uncle lives in a sea region with his family and works there as the governor. Ja-yeon had recently came to visit chae-rin.

"Do you really want to try?" Lady Hong asked her, "Yes" ja-yeon answered without any hesitation. "Okay, you can go" Gang-seong gave her the permission to go.

Without hesitation, ja-yeon stood up and went towards chae-rin's room. "Chae-rin, open the door. It's me, you sister." Hearing ja-yeon voice made chae-rin a bit relived, ja-yeon was the one she was the closest to and the one who understands her the most.

Chae-rin slowly came out of her room, her head hanging low. Her eyes were red and puffy. Ja-yeon didn't say anything just put her hands on chae-rin's shoulders, and took her to the dinner table.

They both sat down. lady Hong took off the cloth on chae-rin's tray of food, "Go ahead". Just as she was about to start a familiar figure appear infront of her, "Grandfather" chae-rin said with her eyes wide. "Grandfather? Chae-rin, what are you talking about?" Their grandmother asked confused, "Grandfather is standing right there" chae-rin said with her hands pointing at a direction.

"Chae-rin, what are you saying? Your grandfather and my father has died two years ago" Gang-seong said concerned about his daughters well-being. "Father, how could you not see him? He looks exactly the same" she insisted on seeing her Grandfather.

Gang-seong sighed thinking his daughter has gone insane, while chae-rin continued to insist her grandfather was standing right here.

The elders of the looked at sun and ha-eun in aww as they bowed to them, "I trust you had a pleasant evening, Grandfather" sun greeted the king a polite manner, "I hope you had pleasant evening, Your majesty " ha-eun repeat after sun.

"Yes, I had pleasant sleep knowing my wish has been full filled. Now, I can die peacefully" the king said, his voice filled with happiness. "Grandfather, do not say. You'll live a very long life" sun scolded him. "Yes father, you will live for a long time" the crown prince (sun's father) spoke up.

"I was just joking" the king chuckled, "Your majesty, please don't make such unfortunate joke" the crown princess politely said. "Your majesty, the children very protective about you, you should not worry them like this" the queen who was sitting beside him jokingly gave a stern look, " Alright, my queen".

"Your highness, bring the bow below your chin and spread your legs more" Kang hyun-sik, sun's personal archery, martial arts teacher and soon to be bodyguard (Eunuch Hong and hyun-sik are the same age as sun) instructed him how aim perfectly. It's been a few week since the royal wedding. After the wedding sun was on a break from his duties for a few days.

When sun shoot the arrow, it landed on the side of the board.0"What do I do?" sun pouted seeing his terrible archery skills, "Do not worry, you'll get with time" hyun-sik reassured him. "Do you really think so?" sun asked looking an adorable puppy, "Yes, Your highness" he chuckled at sun's adorable expression. Sun smiled hearing this.

1 hour later

"I so glad the class is finished" sun excitedly said, "Why are you such a hurry these days?" hyun-sik asked confused as this was not the usual sun. "I have to go see my wife" sun said with a wide smile, "So you tell us hurry so much just because you want to see her highness early?" hyun-sik questioned, "Yes!" sun answered without any hesitation, "That's so unprofessional" hyun-sik scoffed.

"You're saying this because you are not married yet. If you had a wife like mine, you would get it" sun said with his eyes reflecting how much he loves his wife, "I am fine. I would like to say unmarried for a long time" hyun-sik firmly stated. "Okay, have fun with that" sun said trying to control his laughter seeing hyun-sik's cranky face. "Your highness, stop laughing!" hyun-sik whined, but sun continued teasing him.

Sun was fast asleep when suddenly he was jolted awake by Eunuch Hong, "Your highness, wake up!", "What happened? What's all this at this hour?" sun asked confused about why there was so much noise outside his quarter. "Your highness, her highn-" Eunuch Hong couldn't any further the words wouldn't come out of his mouth, "Speak clearly!" sun yelled at him. "Her highness is dead!" Eunuch Hong finally let out. Hearing this sun felt his body freeze while Eunuch Hong broke down in tears.
