I am Sasuke Uchiha. I plan to get revenge on my brother Itachi for murdering my entire clan.

I finally turn around to meet Naruto's eye. His familiar grin is there, but I'm completely uninterested in talking right now. I didn't see him for almost three years. What is he even doing here? Anyway, I speak up.

"Why are you here with me? You're a loser."

Naruto just laughs, that usual carefree attitude spilling over. "Don't you remember me? I'm Naruto! I know I've grown a bit." He stands there, full of confidence, as if the fact that he's changed will change anything between us.

"Tch." I scoff at his words, trying to ignore the memories of us training and fighting together. "Idiot. Of course, I remember you. You're hard to forget."

Naruto's eyes light up, and he gets closer, his gaze sizing me up. "Wait... Did you get taller than me?"

I can't help but smirk, though I turn away slightly to hide it. "Only by an inch or two. Pfft."

Naruto doesn't back down. "Hey, wait a minute! You're not getting away with that! What about your clothes? You're practically half-naked now!" He teases, glancing at the open collar of my shirt.

I turn my head sharply, feeling more irritated now. "Tch. You're a weirdo. Are you going to keep annoying me, or can I train in peace?"

Naruto crosses his arms, clearly not letting me go that easily. "Hey, you running away again?"

I stop in my tracks, feeling my blood boil. "Shut up. I have better things to do than deal with you." My voice is cold, but there's an undertone of old feelings bubbling up. As annoying as Naruto is, there's a small part of me that finds his persistence familiar... almost comforting.

He's not giving up. "I've gotten stronger too, you know!" He calls out, his tone serious for once. "I'm not going to let you just walk away."

I scoff again, my irritation bubbling over. "Pfft. As if you could." I turn back to face him fully now, narrowing my eyes. "You think you can beat me? I've grown much stronger than you. You'd get instantly beaten."

Naruto doesn't flinch. "Wanna bet?" His grin returns, but this time there's a fire in his eyes. He's determined.

I roll my eyes, shaking my head. "What I said back then doesn't matter anymore. I've surpassed you, Naruto. Don't even bother."

But he's not backing down. "Weren't you the one who told me that you'd like to fight me the most? That you couldn't wait to see who would be stronger?"

For a moment, I feel the weight of those old words hanging in the air. I remember that conversation, the excitement, the rivalry. But I push those thoughts away. "Tch. You're delusional. That was a long time ago. Now, I have more important things to focus on than you."

Naruto steps closer, his voice softening. "Of all people, I thought you were the only one who saw me for who I was. I guess I was wrong."

I turn away, refusing to let his words affect me. "You're still the same annoying person you've always been." I feel the tension in the air, but I refuse to let him drag me into his world again. I can't afford to be distracted. Not now. Not when my goal is so close.

But Naruto... he's always been persistent. And part of me wonders how much longer I can keep running from the past.

Naruto doesn't relent. "You think you can just ignore me? Sasuke, I've trained hard to catch up to you. I'm not that kid you left behind anymore."

I clench my fists. The weight of his words, the determination in his voice—it's too familiar. It reminds me of the days we fought side by side, before everything went wrong. But I've come too far to turn back now.
