Signs of Change

It wasn't long before Naruto started noticing subtle changes in Sasuke. The usually sharp and precise Uchiha seemed tired more often, his movements slower, and his appetite unexpectedly inconsistent. Sasuke's sharp tongue softened, replaced by an unusual introspection that unnerved Naruto.

Then there were the moments of unexpected exhaustion. Sasuke, who prided himself on his stamina, found himself pausing during their sparring sessions. His hand would drift to his stomach briefly, as if something felt off, but he never mentioned it aloud.

"Sasuke," Naruto said one evening as they sat together by the fire, Sasuke be was sitting between Naruto legs. And Hikari curled up next to them. "You've been acting weird lately. Are you sick?"

Sasuke, seated cross-legged with a cup of tea, glared back at Naruto. "I'm fine, idiot. Stop hovering."

Naruto frowned, leaning closer. "You've been throwing up a lot, eating stuff you usually hate, and you're always tired. That's not 'fine.'"

Sasuke sighed, rubbing his temples. "I don't have time for your dramatics."

Kurama, who had been unusually silent over the past few weeks, growled softly in Naruto's mind.

"Idiot... He's not sick. He's pregnant."
Naruto froze, his mouth slightly open as he looked at Sasuke. His heart skipped a beat, and his mind began racing. He couldn't have heard that right. His eyes darted to Sasuke, who was still sipping his tea, unaware of the turmoil raging in Naruto's head. The word "pregnant" echoed in his mind, louder than any of his usual thoughts.

"Wait... what?" Naruto whispered to himself, barely believing it.

Sasuke's head snapped up he stood up, his Sharingan flaring. "What are you muttering about now, Naruto?"

Naruto ignored him also standing now, focusing inward. "Kurama, what the hell are you saying? That's not possible!"

Kurama's voice was calm, even smug. "Oh, it's possible. Sasuke is carrying your child."

Naruto's brain short-circuited, his mouth opening and closing like a fish. Sasuke raised an eyebrow.

"Did you forget how to speak, dobe?"

Naruto finally found his voice, though it came out more like a squawk. "Kurama says you're pregnant!"

Sasuke stared at him, deadpan. "You've officially lost it."

"I'm serious!" Naruto blurted, standing up and pacing the room. "Kurama says you're pregnant with my kid!"

Sasuke's eyes narrowed. "That's impossible. I'd know if something like that was happening to me."

Kurama growled again. "Tch. He wouldn't know. The chakra mixing between you two masked the signs for weeks."

Naruto spun around, his face a mixture of panic and excitement. "Kurama says—"

"I heard," Sasuke interrupted coldly. He stood slowly, brushing imaginary dust off his clothes. "You and your fox are both insane. I'm going to bed."

But even as Sasuke brushed past Naruto, a flicker of doubt crossed his face. He had noticed changes in his body, changes he couldn't explain away with fatigue or chakra exhaustion.

Days passed, and Sasuke's usual routines became more difficult. His movements slowed, and his once taut stomach began to curve ever so slightly. He had always prided himself on his physical fitness, but now it seemed as though something invisible was taking root inside him. Naruto noticed, but he didn't dare bring it up again. Sasuke's pride was something Naruto never wanted to challenge, and he knew that pushing him too hard might cause Sasuke to shut down completely.

Instead, one evening, as Sasuke sat on the couch with Hikari curled in his lap, Naruto knelt in front of him, his face unusually serious. The flickering firelight cast long shadows across the room, but the atmosphere was oddly tense. Sasuke absentmindedly scratched behind Hikari's ears, his gaze distant, but his senses were sharp enough to notice the change in Naruto's demeanor.

"Sasuke," Naruto said softly, his voice quieter than usual, as if testing the waters, "I think we need to talk to Tsunade. Just to make sure everything's okay."

Sasuke paused mid-motion, his hand frozen in the air above Hikari's head. His lips pressed into a thin line, and his eyes flicked to Naruto, sharp as ever but with an underlying weariness. He hadn't wanted to face reality, not yet, but he couldn't ignore it anymore. But the thought of talking to Tsunade, of knowing the truth.

"You really believe this ridiculous idea, don't you?" Sasuke's voice was laced with irritation, but there was a crack in his usual defiance. It was as if he was too tired to fight, but still too proud to fully acknowledge the truth.

Naruto nodded, his expression unwavering. "I do. And I just want to make sure you're okay. I don't want to keep going around in circles about this. You deserve to know what's happening with your body. Maybe you're not pregnant but really sick or something. I would never forgive myself if something happens to you."

Sasuke's jaw tightened, the familiar annoyance flashing in his eyes. But despite his usual resistance to help, there was a softness to his gaze when he looked down at Hikari, who was now dozing peacefully in his lap. And for the first time in a long while, he allowed himself to feel a twinge of doubt about pushing this issue any further.

Sasuke sighed deeply, rubbing his temples as if to relieve the pressure that had been building in his head for days. He was exhausted, physically and mentally. "Fine. But if she tells me I'm just gaining weight because of your cooking, I'm killing you."

Naruto grinned nervously, relief flooding through him at the thought of Sasuke agreeing, even if begrudgingly. "Deal."
