And then there was Will

Will got up. His smile reminded me of Augustus Waters from "The Fault in our Stars". I had to look up to him because he was so tall. He shook my hand, he was strong yet gentle.
    "I'm Will. You?"
    I smiled. "Bea."
He smiled "I like that name. Bea."
"Thanks. Apparently my parents liked that name too."
Will surprised me and grabbed my arm and took me downstairs into the kitchen. There were parents all over the place getting to know each other.
"Let me guess which ones are your parents." He said as we walked past the wall that separates the kitchen and the living room.
"Good luck." I said, knowing he would never pick them out.
He looked around for a few seconds.
I saw my mom by the oven that I inferred had never been used since the boys moved in.
He pointed straight at my mom. "Mom?" First try.
I paused out of slight disbelief "You are good."
Before I knew what happened, we were standing right next to my mom.
"Hello Mrs..." he paused, looked down at me, and smiled.
    "Taylor."
He looked back at my mom and started over. "Hello Mrs. Taylor. I'm Will. I have just met your wonderful daughter and I just wanted to tell you that I love the name Bea."
My mom looked at him, then at me and did that thing with her eyebrows again. "Thanks Will. But you should probably talk to her dad about that one. He named her."
"I will do that right now. Nice to meet you Mrs. Taylor!"
    My mom smiled. "You too."
Will was half away across the room looking for my dad before I could even say anything. Will introduced himself to my dad and told him what a wonderful name Bea was. I left out of embarrassment. My dad and Will talked and laughed while I got some food and punch.
I just met Will an hour ago and I feel like I know him. I feel like we have known each other forever. I was thinking about that when Will came up behind me and lightly jumper cabled me while I was drinking and scared me half to death.
"Will!" I screamed as the punch I had been holding spilled all over my dress.
"Oh my gosh! I'm sorry Bea!" he said through his laugh.
    I was laughing too.
"Lets clean you up." He grabbed my hand that was now sticky and red from the punch, and led me back up the stairs to the closest bathroom.
He helped me clean up my arms and hands. He offered me the shower and a towel. He left so I could take a shower. So I did, and the whole time I was thinking of him and his smile. When I finished I grabbed the towel off the counter and dried up. The towel smelled like lavender detergent.
I started getting my sticky dress back on when I heard someone knock on the door. I quickly finished putting my dress back on and opened the door. It was Will and he had a t-shirt and sweatpants in his hands.
"Take that off, I can wash it. Try these on." he said as he offered me the clothes. He pulled the clothes back a little bit "I like the no makeup look on you".
"Liar." I said with a smile as I snatched the clothes from his hands and shut the door.
I looked in the mirror and looked at my naked face. I have decided that from this day on I am only doing natural makeup. No more smokey eye.
I pulled the dress off and grabbed his shirt. It was black and it had stars and stripes on it. I pulled it over my head. Lavender. I grabbed the gray sweatpants and put them on. I looked horrible. At least they fit.
By the time I got out of the bathroom almost everyone was gone. That saved me a little embarrassment. Everybody said goodbye to each other and I said goodbye to Will.
"You know, now that I think about it, I am really happy that I made you spill your punch on yourself." He said as he leaned on a shelf.
"Why? So I can always remember you as that one guy that made me spill my punch every time I see that dress?" I said, chuckling.
"Oh yes, that was totally my intention." Another smile. "But really. I was happy because you know, I am washing your dress, and unless you don't want it back then I need to see you again. And I would really love that. Also I really like those sweatpants and I would like them back."
"I wasn't planning on stealing your sweatpants. The shirt on the other hand."
"Keep it. It looks better on you."
I gave him my number so that we could plan a clothes swap.
On the way home the only thing my mom talked about was the people that she met there. I kind of blocked her out and focused on Will. Like how he was so nice but that maybe he does that with other girls. I tried to forget him and get some sleep in the car.
Right before I fell asleep I heard my mom talking about Will. I woke up a bit and my mom started asking me questions about him. She even asked if we were dating. I am not the kind of girl to date someone that I just met or that I don't know. Considering I just met him a few hours ago, I am not going to just date him. Maybe next time.
