He led me to his car and opened the door for me.
“Mam.” He gestured to get in the car.
“Thank you sir.” I curtsied back and got in the car.
When I got in the car and put my seatbelt on I grabbed Will’s sweatpants out of my bag and handed them to him.
“Thanks. I have something for you too.” He grabbed a box from the back of his car.
“Will.” I looked at him with the you didn't look.
“Bea.” He said looking over at me.
“Will, what is in the box?”
“It's nothing.”
“Will!”
“I’m not telling you what's in there. You have to open it and see.”
I looked at the box, then back at Will.
“You dont have to wait until Christmas.”
“Fine.” I opened the box. There was a rose and a pack of my favorite candy, Swedish Fish. “How did you know?”
“I may, or may not have, asked Nick.”
“Well thank you very much Will.” I leaned over the car console and kissed him on the cheek.
“There is more.” He smiled.
I lifted up the tissue paper and I saw my dress. I lifted it up and there was no longer a red stain. I saw an envelope fall out of the bottom of the dress. “Will you have already gotten me enough stuff today!”
“Ok. Open the rest tomorrow then!”
“Thank you so much though.”
“You are so welcome.”
I put everything back in the box and set it in the back seat. I looked over at Will while he was driving. He looked back at me and smiled. I looked out of the window and thought about how nice and thoughtful that Will was.
"So, have you thought about college much yet?"
"Yeah I actually applied for quite a few colleges. They are all really far away and before this summer I wanted to get out of here and do my own thing. Now, with all of the things that have happened this summer, I don't really want to be away from everybody. Including you."
"Well just stay here then!"
"I would love to but I got into ivy league and other really good schools. I don't know what to do."
"You still have the school year to figure it out so I wouldn't stress too much yet."
"Yeah. Yet."
"Hey, worse case scenario, I could go with you."
"Thanks but you have a life and a job here!"
Will worked at the hospital with the little kids in therapy. Apparently the kids love him. I could understand why.
"I would give anything to make you happy."
