《Chapter 1》

Another quite simple day on the GardenView. Kid's playing around, hugging other toons, asking questions...
.
.
"Can you both hear the other's thoughts?" One little girl with a comedically large bow behind her hair asked.

🎭"Oh, OH!" Razzle gasped a little gently while realizing what she meant. "Oh no! Of course not! Even if we are stuck together, we can't hear each other's thoughts.. ( I'm glad it is that way..)"
.
.
The day seemed to pass a little slow... The same things are going on each day. I'm quite surprised I haven't snapped from staying at this rainbow framed prison.

🌼🌈"Will I ever get to see the sky? The clouds? The flowers?" Dandy asked his toon handler. Pebble was resting peacefully on his lap, having no idea of what was going on..

"What do you mean? The stars look great tonight."
His toon handler replied, simply.

🌼🌈"No, not this ones. I mean real clouds! Bees! Only thinking of it makes me feel excited!"

"..."

🌼🌈"I will... right?"

"... Of course, Dandy. One day, you will." He petted Pebble's head and pinched his cheek. Dandy smiled at him faintly.
.
.
He knew that that was NOT true. He knew he was stuck here. A toy. A piece of entertainment. He wanted to run through real grass and see real butterflies. See real stars.
.
.
Staying in this rainbow framed jail made him insane. He hated seeing others happy. All their gee and whimsy happened to be contagious. Not to him. Slowly and slowly, he started to comprehend Shrimpo's behavior.

All these rainbows, fake flowers, and trees, the same faces each. DARN. DAY. The fake stars painted on the wall, the fake sabotaged gameshows.. watching them smile, still knowing they all were doomed to stay in this place.

He was sick of this.

"He's slowly realizing, sir. Today, he asked me when he would be able to leave the GardenView." Dandy heard his toon handler say in one of the hallways of his dorm.

"I knew this day would happen. This is what you're going to do: Place him in the "be better" center."

"Only kids can stay there if they misbehave.." His toon handler replied.

"Just do as I say, darn it. It's that or having his chatterbox ass telling the others. You decide." The man replied to the Toon handler.

...

Time passed. Dandy stayed there. Dandy was stuck there. Dandy was trapped there. He was surrounded by this black substance, markers, and supplies. The room was dark and ominous, and the light bulb went on and off from time to time.

This was hell.

During nighttime, he could see the light bulb go completely OFF. Leaving him alone. Alone in this world, alone forever. And ever, and ever, and ever.

🌼🌈"PLEASE, LET ME OUT! PEBBLE? ASTRO? SPROUT!? ANYONE!? PLEASE!.. PLEASE HELP ME.. GET ME OUT OF HERE.. PLEASE...

Please..."

Days passed. And passed, and went on, laughter was hearable from the upper rooms. He could hear faint bangs on the ceiling. Chatter, fun, whimsy.

At least he was not there.

But this was way worse.

He started to eat less. He started to lose weight. He had no access to water, and some days, some people in suits came to put something in his head.

It was pretty heavy, the door was open, he had tried it before. Many times, every time...

Nothing worked.

Crying on one side of the wall, rocking himself back and forth. All for talking. All for that DARN wish of being free.

During nighttime, all hearable was his sobs. He was alone. Hungry. Sad. Starving. Decaying. Even his petals were losing color, his eyes became faint, a light gray... soon to be white.

🌼🌈"I... I am hungry... I..."

He wasn't able to finish that sentence. He knocked himself over to the floor, splashing in some black substance spilled on the floor.

It was cold.

He was thirsty. Hungry. This was his only way to survive a little longer.

He drank a little.

A little more.

It's only a tad bit more...

A little more can't do any harm.

It was... rather tasty. Better than water. Better than
Sprout and Cosmo's pastries. Of course, anything eaten while you're hungry tastes fucking good, but this was better, just better.

He could work with this.

"Okay buddy, come here.."

Finally. Finally over. Finally, out of there. He stared faintly at his toon handler, who, even though this was not his idea, was equally guilty for allowing this to happen.

He wasn't even angry anymore. He was too tired for this.

"Are you ok?"

🌼🌈"..."

No response. All this mere torture just for one simple question.

He was on the verge of collapsing. His toon handler grabbed his hand gently, walking with him. Dandy just stared at the floor, his eyes almost white.

He was paler than before, his petals were decaying, and he was skinny.

When he arrived at his dorm room, he couldn't see or feel anything. Until..

🪨"Bark!"

He saw him. Pebble. He finally smiled after 6 months. Hearing his barks again made chills go through his spine. In a good way.

🌼🌈"Pebble! PEBBLE!"

He kneeled, forgetting all his pain. Pebble ran to him, crying. (I don't know how to explain how dogs cry, but they make a sound, like begging or something. idk)

Dandy hugged Pebble tightly, almost as if he hadn't been  kept hostage on a room for more than 4 months without any food or water.

He started crying, too. Pebble nuzzled his cheek against Dandy's, which were wet with something, but not exactly tears.

It was black.
