I'd rather be alone than a stranger
You'd come and visit me late at night

I should be happy, you would think I would be as the autumn in weather was almost in full effect. Gloomy skies and the rain-stained pavement.

It was also my first day back at the bakery and it wasn't as busy, thankfully. Tables were occupied but most people came and went quickly.

"Thank you so much" The girl smiled at me before walking away from the counter with her almond scone. I sigh lowly, like I said. I should be happy but I wasn't.

This morning I woke up late, got to class late, and had gone to pick up my last paycheck at the pool—turns out that job really is shitty, overall not a great day.

I must've not heard the door chime as I hear a small "You look miserable" I look up and meet with Minho's curious gaze. His tone came out a bit playful but as his eyes looked over my face I could tell he was a bit worried.

I roll my eyes, I was in fact dwelling in my misery but wasn't that what I had always done? What was I without loneliness and melancholy? Nothing.

"I'm fantastic, thank you for asking," I say sarcastically, making him chuckle lowly. His laugh rumbles through me like a midnight storm forcing someone awake.

"A blueberry muffin and green tea, hot" I nod slowly.

I tap in his order, ready to cash him out when another voice stops me completely. "A latte for me" I look up and now notice the girl beside Minho. In all her prime, there stood Krystal.

I never hated Krystal, mostly because she never gave anyone anything to hate her for. You know those girls that everyone just loves? That was Krystal. Now standing here with Minho, I realized she was basically the female version of him and suddenly I felt oddly sick.

I nod again and put in her order, as Minho swipes his card, I walk away and grab his muffin—putting it into a bag and walking back to the two of them. As I hand it to him, I meet with his small smile "Thanks Ji" He says.

"Yeah, of course," I swallow harshly "I'll take the tea and latte to the table" I let him know and the two walk away and to a table near the large window, looking out to the gloomy weather.

I turn around and start to make their drinks as Margaret walks out from the back, "Try this hun" I turn to her and she hands me a bread loaf, "It's pumpkin and chai, I'll do these"

I take the loaf "Just a Latte and to that table" I motion to where Minho sat. Margaret nods and I bite into the loaf, a small hum leaves me and she smiles.

"Good?"

I nod, "Delicious, maybe a bit less sweet?"

Margaret hits my shoulder with a small chuckle, "Why do you hate sweets so badly?"

I shrug "I don't hate them, I just prefer savory," I tell her as she finishes up the Latte and walks around the counter with the drinks, walking to the two and giving it to them. Margaret gives Minho a friendly smile and places her hand on his shoulder as she tells them something.

I lean over the counter and I couldn't help but watch them for a second, even after Margaret leaves. Getting lost in the way Krystal laughs at whatever he tells her. The way she places her dainty hands around the mug, putting her lightly red tinted lips onto the mug and after taking a a sip, she licks the small amount of cream from her top lip—She was beautiful.

I inhale deeply and look ahead, my gaze out the glass door and to the drizzles of rain that hit the concrete.

I looked around the Bakery and pushed away from the counter, walking to the back where Margaret had escaped again.
