Niki hesitated at the entrance, his eyes never leaving Eunha.

The moment was surreal, both of them standing in the middle of a whirlwind of emotions they hadn't expected to face today.

He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, clearly unsure of what to do next, but Eunha couldn't bring herself to meet his gaze again.

Her fingers tightened around her phone, her mind a jumble of thoughts. How could this happen? How could I not know?

Slowly, she exhaled and looked up. Niki had taken a step closer to her table, his expression softening.

He opened his mouth, and for a second, it looked like he was about to say something, but the words seemed to die in his throat.

Finally, Niki took another step forward. "Eunha?"

His voice was quiet, almost hesitant. Her name sounded different coming from him in person, more real. It made her heart pound even harder.

She swallowed and forced herself to meet his eyes. "Niki..." She smiled. "Hello."
She cleared her throat. "Do you, uh... want to sit down and talk?" She nodded toward the empty chair across from her.

Niki blinked, clearly caught off guard by Eunha's sudden shift.

"Uh, yeah. Sure," Niki said, scratching the back of his neck. He glanced at the empty chair before pulling it out and sitting down slowly, his eyes never leaving her face.

Eunha forced a bright smile as she leaned forward, elbows resting on the table.

"I think we already know each other..." she started. "I mean, we've been talking online and we met, like, three times."

"Yeah." he said.

"So, the boys who were present at the fight last time... are they the ones in your group?" she asked.

"Yes. I'm sorry about last time, by the way. Eunseo just likes to cause problems," he said.

"No, it's okay."

Then came a silence.

"Um, so?" Eunha said, trying to fill the quiet.

"How are you doing? I mean, since the fight we haven't really talked, and I've been worried about you." Niki said, showing her a small smile.

Eunha felt her heart beat faster. "Oh, I'm sorry. My phone broke, and I couldn't text you. Actually, I tried to, but I couldn't. I tried sever—"

"It's okay, really. Don't stress." Niki interrupted, grabbing her hand that was on the table and giving it a small squeeze with a reassuring smile.

Eunha couldn't help but stare at him.

"Um, yes, I won't stress," she said, her voice a little softer now.

There was a brief pause before Niki spoke up again, his voice quieter this time. "You know, I was really looking forward to this. Meeting you in person."

Eunha's cheeks flushed slightly, and she felt the familiar flutter in her stomach. "Me too." she admitted.

For a moment, they both just sat there, neither of them knew exactly what to say next, but it didn't feel as uncomfortable anymore.

"So..." Niki started, breaking the silence once again. "Do you wanna grab something to eat? Or... we could just hang out here for a while?"

Eunha nodded, feeling her heart settle into a more steady rhythm. "Yeah, let's hang out here for a bit."

Niki smiled, and for the first time since a while, Eunha felt like things might just be okay.
