Eunha's mother was standing there, gripping her daughter's collar tightly, her face twisted in pure rage. Eunha's head hung limply, blood trickling down her forehead from a nasty cut above her eyebrow, her eyes shut as if she'd already slipped into unconsciousness.

The sight hit him like a punch, and he didn't hesitate. He rushed forward, shoving the mother back with enough force that she staggered, letting go of Eunha who slumped to the floor.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Niki's voice was raw, filled with shock and anger. He dropped to his knees beside Eunha, gently cradling her face, brushing her hair away to get a better look at her injury. She wasn't responding, her breaths shallow, and the sight of the blood on her head made him panic even more.

Turning back, his eyes narrowed at Eunha's mother, who was regaining her balance, her eyes flashing with fury.

"You're insane! She's your daughter!" he yelled, his voice cracking as the weight of the situation started hitting him harder.

Eunha's mother's face twisted even more. She shot him a look of pure hatred, fists clenched at her sides. "She's a curse," she spat out, her words laced with venom. "You have no idea how much I despise her."

Niki's whole body tensed. How could anyone feel that way about their own child? He was about to yell back when a new voice echoed down the hallway—Eunha's father. He'd heard the commotion and had come upstairs, only to freeze at the sight in front of him. His eyes darted from his unconscious daughter to Niki holding her protectively, to his wife, who stood there, her chest heaving with anger.

"What... what is going on?" the father stammered, his face going pale as he tried to process what he was seeing.

"She attacked her!" Niki's voice was shaking with rage, barely holding himself together. "Your wife—she... she was hurting her own daughter!"

The father's expression shifted, confusion giving way to disbelief and then to pure anger. He turned to his wife, his face hardening. "What is wrong with you? What has she done to deserve this?!"

"She deserves it!" her mom shouted back, her voice shrill. "All she's ever done is bring shame on this family. I wish she was never born!"

Her dad's face twisted with rage, and he moved toward her. "Are you insane? She's our daughter! Your daughter!" His voice cracked, disbelief mingling with his anger.

"Our daughter?" she mocked. "Don't kid yourself. You've always taken her side. Well, I'm done. Done with all of you!" She shot a hateful look at Eunha before spitting out, "She's nothing to me."

Niki couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed his phone, fingers shaking as he dialed emergency services. He barely managed to keep his voice steady as he explained the situation, giving the address and describing Eunha's condition. As soon as he ended the call, he glared up at her mom again, unable to hide the disgust in his eyes.

"You're sick," he said, his voice low but filled with venom. "You're a monster."

Her dad, now fully in a rage, pointed at his wife, his voice nearly a growl. "If she doesn't make it through this...you'll regret every single word you just said."

But her mom just laughed bitterly, her arms still folded, her eyes blazing with stubborn hatred. "Don't try to scare me with empty threats," she hissed. "She's taken everything from me! I won't regret anything."

Just then, they heard sirens approaching, and Niki let out a breath, relieved that help was finally coming. He looked down at Eunha, brushing a strand of hair from her face gently. "Hang in there," he whispered, his voice breaking.

The police and paramedics burst through the door moments later. The police officers immediately took in the tension, their eyes darting between the people in the room. Two of them went to restrain her mom, who struggled at first, screaming, "Get off me!" as they pulled her back.

One officer approached Niki. "What happened here?"

Niki looked up, his face still tight with emotion. "She...she did this," he said, nodding toward the mother. "She hurt her own daughter. And she's been doing it for a long time."

Meanwhile, the paramedics worked quickly to assess Eunha, checking her pulse and lifting her carefully onto a stretcher. Niki's gaze stayed fixed on her, worry filling his eyes.

Her mom, even as the police led her away, shouted bitterly, "This is all her fault! She's ruined my life! I don't care what happens to her!"

Niki clenched his fists, anger simmering beneath the surface. But he didn't respond. Instead, he focused on following the paramedics as they carried Eunha downstairs. Her dad trailed behind, looking devastated, barely able to process what had happened.

At the bottom of the stairs, one of the officers stopped Niki. "We'll need your statement."

Niki nodded, his voice quiet but steady. "Fine. Just...please, make sure she's okay." He cast a quick glance at the ambulance as they loaded Eunha inside.

Her dad's gaze drifted to his wife, now cuffed and being led toward the police car. The woman who once shared his life now felt like a stranger, her face twisted in hatred. He shook his head, disbelief mingling with sadness. "How did it come to this?" he muttered to himself, his voice barely a whisper.
