The saloon

2 days later

Ever since me and Steve rescued the men every person has given us respect. Colonel no longer looks down upon me because I'm a woman, he finally treats me like I'm worth something. We were asked to go down to the base so we can mark the remaining Hydra bases on the map. I remember some of them, but Steve said he remembered where they are on the map.

When we arrived they lead us down to where the map was. I let Steve take over because they would probably listen to him more than me. "The fifth one was here in Poland, right near the Baltic... And the sixth one was, about here, 30, 40 miles west of the Maginot Line." Steve informed the soldier. I have also been given a military uniform, it resembles Peggy's. "I just got a quick glance." Steve added. "It looks right to me, Steve." I said analyzing the points on the map. "We'll nobody is perfect." Peggy said. I noticed them hold eye contact for quite a bit, they need to just go on a date already. I cleared my throat, which made them snap out of their trance. Peggy awkwardly smiled at me before walking to the other table. Steve admired her while she was walking to the other side of the room.

"These are the weapon factories we know about. Sargent Barnes said that they shipped all the parts to another facility that isn't on this map." Steve said as we walked toward Peggy. "Agent Carter, coordinate with MI6, I want every allied eyeball looking for that main Hydra base." Phillips informed us while walking away. I was still looking at the locations until I heard Peggy questioned colonel. "What about us?" She asked, She stood beside Steve. "We are going to set a fire under Johann Schmidt's ass. What do you say Rodgers. It's your map. You think you and your sister can wipe Hydra off of it?" He stated pointing at the map. "Yes sir, I think we certainly can." I said smiling. "But we will need a team." Steve added. "We are already putting together the best men." He told us while reading files. "With all do respect, I think we can pick our team." I told him. He looked up from his paper. "I already have some men in mind." Steve said glancing at me.

2 days later

"Hey Peggy. Do you think I can borrow a dress?" I asked while doing my hair. "Yea sure. Which one do you want? I have a dark blue or dark red one. Just to let you know I'm wearing dark red too." She said as she showed the dresses.
(I tried to insert a photo but for some reason I couldn't) I tried on both dresses and I went with the blue one. "Thanks Peg!" I said as I hugged her. I put on white heels and then waited for Peggy. When we were both ready we got in the car.

When we arrived I could hear the men singing from outside the saloon. I smiled as me and Peggy walked through the doors. Instead of carrying on the men went quiet, they were staring at us. I followed Peg to the very back of the building. I saw Buck sitting with Steve they turned their heads when they noticed the men quiet down. James looked straight at me and smiled, I don't know why but I got this weird feeling in my stomach. They stood up to greet us. "Hey Stevie." I said and went to hug him. "Hey Sarge." I smiled at James. "Oh come on. How does Steve gets a hug when I don't, Lady America." James dramatically asked. I smiled again and then went to hug him. Steve looked at us and smirked, then he nudged Peggy and she smirked at us too. "What! Stop looking at us like that." I exclaimed. They laughed. "Anyway, Howard has some equipment he would like you and y/n to try. Tomorrow morning?" She told Steve. They kept eye contact again, I smirked at them in hopes to make them uncomfortable because they did the same to me. "I see your top squad is prepping." Peggy said, I looked into the main room and laughed at them. "You don't like music?" James asked, I knew what he was doing. Peggy's eyes never left Steve's as she said, "I do actually. I might even, when all of this is over, go dancing." She continued looking into Steve's eyes. "Then what are we waiting for?" James asked, he had that stupid smirk on his face. God I hate when he flirts with women. Wait, no, he can flirt with whoever he wants. Why am I thinking like this? I guess I was zoned out because I didn't hear most of the conversation. Peggy started walking away. "I'm invisible!" Bucky told Steve. "I'm turning into you. It's like a horrible dream." He said looking at the ground. I saw Steve's face change, he got an idea. "Don't take it to hard. Maybe she's got a friend." Steve said and patted James' shoulder. I started laughing and Buck just looked at me and smiled. "Did Steve just use your line against you James Buchanan Barnes?" I said still laughing, Steve was laughing too. "Sorry, but I have to go. We have to be awake early in the morning, so remember y/n you can drink but not a lot. You can still get drunk." Steve said before turning to leave. "Night Steve!" I said waving at him. "Night!" He said back. When he left me and Buck sat at the bar. "What would you like n/n?" He turned towards me and smiled. "Just a beer." I told him. While we waited on our drinks we caught up with each other. "One beer for the special lady." The bartender said while giving me the drink. I just smiled at him. "N/n, how does it feel to be Lady America?" Buck asked and nudged my shoulder. "I feel more respected than I did before so that's a plus, but then I also don't want to mess up because there are so many girls who look up to me." He nodded. "Well. I think you are the best woman in the world." He said and hugged me. "To you becoming Lady America." He said and raised his glass. I smiled and raised my glass then took a big sip of it. "I'm probably going to only drink 2 so I can keep it professional." He looked at me and raised an eyebrow. "Mhm. Ok, keep it professional." He said and laughed. I heard the song me and Buck used to dance to, I looked at him. He was already smiling at me, he stood up in front of me. "May I have this dance Lady America?" He held out his hand, I took it and he led us to the center of the room. I put my hands around his neck and he put his arms around my waist. I smiled at him, "god I missed this James." I said as I put my head on his chest. "I missed this too n/n." He looked down and smiled. When the song was finished we sat down and started to talk about everything that happened when he was gone, he was mostly intrigued by the experiment and Dr. Erskine. I was on like my fifth or sixth drink maybe ninth. I stopped counting a while ago. "Hey what do you say we get back to the base?" Bucky said standing up. "Ok" I giggled. He looked at me with a smile and an eyebrow raised. When I tried to stand up everything started spinning, it looked so cool. I giggled as I started stumbling, I tripped over my own feet and Bucky caught me before I hit the ground. I giggled when I looked at him because he was laughing and shaking his head. "What happened to not wanting to drink but 2?" He said as he picked me up bridal style. I giggled when he lifted me up. Then I got super tired, last thing I remember is falling asleep.
