Niccolò 'Nico' di Angelo: 15y/o
William 'Will' Solace: 16y/o
---
"Three dozen souls in Washington..."
"Hazel Lavesque, Clarisse La Rue, Nico di Angelo..."
"Official Quest..."
"Another stupid quest..."
"Lets just finish..."
"Don't go in there, Nic..."
"Nico?"
"NICO!"
"Umph-"
Nico came to when the sound of a sword going through flesh finally registered to his brain, his spot laying face up on stone and dirt a wake up call at best.
"Hazel, look out!" Clarisse shouted, using her sword to slice at the calf of a giant, at least ten feet in height.
With the extra warning, Hazel jumped out of the way of an even large one before it could hit her, and with her agility swung around and met the giant in the gut, turning it to golden dust immediately.
Nico drew one extra dagger at his waistline and another in hit boot, standing despite his dizziness and sharp throbbing in his leg to greet the next giant his half-sister met in battle.
Slaying the final one of the seemingly four, the other two were panting whereas Nico was full-on heaving, squatted on the ground with sweat beading on his forehead.
"Nico, what in Ares' name were you thinking?" Clarisse spat, using the tip of her blade to make a swinging gesture at the monster dust swirling pitifully around them. They were in an indent in the earth, seemingly at the outskirts of a forest just beside the capitol of Washington.
Nico shrugged, avoiding his frenemie's gaze while pocketing his knives and finding his sword which lay on the ground a few feet away, while also ignoring the way he felt as if his body turned to mush and his brain was drawing zigzags across itself with sharp stones, and his lung felt all too small to take in his breath, and he felt as if he were both too large and too small for his body.
"Why did you think it was a good idea to jump down into a giant's home?"
Nico shrugged.
"When you weren't even sure if there was a soul down–"
Nico was about to shrug again, but decided to verbally answer for once. "For one, I didn't know it was a giant's home. And two—" He cleared his throat, willing his voice not to crack and to supply himself with air, "—I'm just ready to get back to camp, Clarisse. I'm sorry." He grunted, the apology rough on his tongue.
Hazel interrupted before Clarisse could even start her next accusation, "Clarisse, Nico said sorry. Now, you say sorry for taunting him earlier." She smiled innocently while dusting off her sword and sheathing it on her back.
Clarisse grumbled something Nico wouldn't have begun to decode if he didn't already know what she was supposed to be saying. "Thank you." He nodded curtly, scanning the area for more monsters and simultaneously trying to calm his racing heart.
