CHAPTER 6

It had been a very hard afternoon, many secrets to keep and many truths revealed.
All I needed was to take a shower and sleep for many hours.
Go into the bathroom and I could have sworn I took more than an hour to take a shower.

I felt so relaxed that I felt that nothing could harm my calmness.
I had forgotten my clothes on the bed so I covered my body with a towel and went out to get them. I was so wrong, my calm ended when I saw him standing there, Hunter, he was next to my bed looking at a picture of my mother on the bedside table.

-She's identical to Isobel-" he said with a small smile on his face.

- What are you doing here, how did you get in?-

If I wanted her to keep her secret, I'd have to answer every question she had.
I took a pen that I had on my bedside table, pulled my arm and wrote down his phone number.

It was a kind of pepper spray only without pepper, according to its specifications it had: Calendula, Geranium, Petunia and Lavender.
My grandmother has many plants and she forces me to take care of them so I knew that all these plants had something in common, they were totally exposed to the sun all their life so they could grow they even had radiation. It was weird because I didn't understand how this would help me.
I wanted to tell my brother that it wasn't animal attacks and tell him the whole truth, but I still didn't know if that was the most convenient.

"Thank you," I said putting it in my bag.

Grandma called us for dinner so we went downstairs together.
The smell of cheese had permeated the kitchen, Mc and chesse, it was Isobel's favorite food, she was sitting there and it looked like she had cried all afternoon, her eyes were swollen and her nose was very red; of course one of her best friends had died, maybe we should have empathized more with her and comforted her but we left her alone.
