CHAPTER 3

Ten minutes? Only ten minutes had passed since Isobel and I left the house? My God, I could swear we'd been walking for over an hour, she hadn't stopped talking for a single second since we left.
My mind told me to yell at her to shut up for a minute, but my heart told me to just listen. We'd talked more in these few minutes than we had in our entire damn lives.

-Do you think the guys at the party will think I'm sexy?- she asked with a doubtful look on her face.

-Are you serious?- I said, laughing.

I couldn't hide my expression at such a stupid question.

-You're a redhead, guys always think redheads are sexy- I smiled as I watched a grin spread across her face.

All I had to do to shut her up was agree with her because, for the next five minutes, she didn't say a word, just walked with a silly smile on her face.

When we arrived, I could hear everyone enjoying the music, and in a corner of the woods, I could see lights that seemed to come from a few cars.

-Is this your first party?- I asked Isobel.

-Of course not! Well... maybe with alcohol, and outside a house,- she replied.

-What? What do you mean by that?- I asked.

-The only parties I've been to are sleepovers with my friends,- she said with a nervous smile.

I just rolled my eyes because I realized I was going to have to babysit her the entire night. I didn't have time to say anything else when that idiot Jaden showed up.

-Wilson, glad you came to your senses and decided to join me,- he said with a smug smile.

-Are you an idiot or can't you read? Didn't my message make it clear for you to leave me alone? Get lost and leave us alone,- I said, trying to sound threatening.

He didn't say anything, just walked away.

We went deeper into the woods, finally entering the party. I thought it would be bigger, but there weren't more than fifty people. I grabbed my sister's arm, and we kept walking.
I felt a shiver run down my spine, my shoulders felt heavy, and I even forgot how to walk when I sensed someone's eyes fixed on me. My mind told me to turn around because I knew exactly who it was, but my body wouldn't respond.

-Harper-
-Harper-
-Harper,- Isobel repeated, seeing that I wasn't reacting.

-What's up?- I finally responded, snapping out of it.

-That guy over there hasn't stopped staring at you,- Isobel said, trying to be subtle.

I turned my head to see, but it wasn't the mysterious guy I thought it was. It was another very handsome guy, about 6 feet tall, with dark blonde hair and mischievous green eyes. He was walking toward me with a girl; I guessed they were siblings because they looked identical, only she was a bit younger. Their beauty wasn't natural-I could swear they were children of Aphrodite.

-Hello, ladies,- he said.

The girl just turned her head to the side with an annoyed expression.

-Hi-
-Hi- Isobel and I responded at the same time.

I glanced at Isobel and could see she was almost about to faint, or at least vomit from nervousness in front of them.

-We wanted to offer you some drinks,- he said with a mischievous smile.

-We don't accept things from strangers, sorry,- I responded.

-I'm Rowan, and she's Alice, we're siblings. Now you know us,- he said.
