Headache was something Jimin used to have since her job required her brain to never stop thinking beside when she closed her eyes to sleep. The four hours of sleep she had, that was it. But this kind of headache was the worst, because it mixed with anger, anxiety and emotions that she hated.

Her mother's questions didn't help either.

"I really don't know, Mom." She sighed, cradling her head, swearing nasty words internally. "He wasted my time yesterday, I don't know why they refused to let me rehearse alone. If he doesn't show up again tonight then we can just cancel it."

Almost groaning instantly when she heard her mother gasp, Jimin quickly closed her eyes.

"I know, I know, I'm–"

The older woman grabbed her shoulder and forced her to look back. "This is your engagement, this isn't just some meeting you can cancel whenever you like!"

A snort came from the other side of the room. "As if she ever cancels her meetings."

"Ningning!"

"What?" The young woman crossed her legs and looked at Jimin's glare unbothered. "I've been trying to take you shopping for your dress since two weeks ago and you keep saying you can't because you have meetings."

Jaw dropped in shock, her mother turned back to her. "You didn't get a dress?"

She shrugged her off and flopped down on her seat, rummaging through her drawers and started setting the papers on her desk. "I don't know why I need to get a new dress, I have tons already."

Seemed like her words only made her mother more upset. "Again. This is your engagement party."

"I know."

Seohyun grimaced and Ningning shrugged as Jimin continued with her work. "How are you my daughter?"

"You gave birth to me."

"Jimin–"

"Look, the dress is not important, okay?" Jimin gave her mother the attention she demanded. "I'll see if I can find him at his house." The frown on her mother's face made her wavered a bit. "In an hour, after I send these paperwork."

Closing her eyes as she took a breath, Seohyun dramatically clutched her chest and Ningning quickly stood up to approach them. "It's okay, Mrs. Yu, I'll make sure she will leave in ten minutes." Stroking the older woman's back soothingly, the mother sneered silently at her daughter. "And I'll find Minsik too, I promise."

After a few more deep breaths, Seohyun eventually gave in and nodded at Ningning. "I'm counting on you, Ningning." Nodded with a smile, Ningning patted her arm before she turned back to Jimin, glaring. "Don't cause too much trouble for her, okay? Listen to your friend, she's taking a day off for you." The urge to roll her eyes was there, but Jimin decided to give her a tight lipped smile and nodded. "I'll see you at the venue. In the afternoon, Jimin. Two o'clock, you hear me?" It became even harder to fight it. "You need to prepare and rehearse with Minsik so everything will go smoothly."

"Yes, Mom, two o'clock."

Unconvinced, she only sighed in relief when Ningning nodded again. "I'll take her."

"Thank you, Ningning." Kissing her cheek softly, Seohyun glared one last time at Jimin before finally walking out of her daughter's office.

Jimin released the tension from her shoulders and silently continued her task, typing in her laptop, focusing on the words she made when suddenly, her friend slammed it, making her frown in disapproval and look up. "What?"

She raised her eyebrow. "This is your engagement day and you're working? Your fiancé is missing and you're working? Like," She exhaled loudly. "Is your head okay? Is it working properly? Or is it your heart that isn't working properly?"
