Chapter 66

Angelus did cook our lunch while I was doing my schoolwork. I have to go to school next week to pass my worksheets and other projects for this semester. 

Medyo hirap pa ako dahil kahit na may textbooks at online class ako, mas maganda pa rin kung personal. It feels like I'm not made for this kind of setup. The only thing that keeps me motivated is that the semester will end soon and I can live normally once Ristan is inside the bars. 

Nahagip ko ng tingin si Angelus at agad na nagkunot ng noo nang makita itong naglabas ng bagong damit. He's carrying a white button-down shirt and black trousers with him. 

"Where are you going? Didn't I tell you not to go anywhere?" Nilapitan ko siya at pinanood siyang ilapag sa kama ang mga damit at itim na belt. 

He gazed at me, and I furrowed my brows as he gently took my hand and drew me nearer to him. When he smiled, I knew that he needed to leave, and he'd persuade me to allow him.

"I have an urgent matter to take care of. It should only take an hour or two, and then I'll be back." 

"What matter?" Kinunutan ko siya lalo ng noo. 

It's annoying. He promised me he'd be here with me the whole day! Pero ngayon aalis siya? 

"It's about my partnership with Gunther for our business. Have you forgotten? I am his business associate," he said with a grin.

I clenched my jaw, fixing him with a steely gaze. The thought of him leaving didn't sit well with me. Even if he does come back to me every night and spends his weekends with me, it still makes me feel like we have a little time together. Kung kaya ko lang mag-demand na rito na siya magtrabaho ay gagawin ko talaga. 

My scowl faltered when he caressed my cheek, still smiling at me. Unti-unting kumalas sa pagkakalinya ang mga kilay ko. 

"But... you promised me, and... what if something happens to me here?" I tried to trick him. I am not really worried about that. I just want him to stay here with me so I won't worry about him going out. 

"Nothing will happen to you. I dispatched a lot of men outside, and Apollo will be here to guard you. I'll be gone for just... an hour or two, Farida," he was smiling while explaining.

I clicked my tongue, disagreeing with what he said. I wanted to stomp my feet to put stress on my opposition, but I stopped myself.

Hindi ako nagsalita, masama pa rin ang ekspresyon ng mukha. His grin grew wider, and he palmed my cheeks as he crouched to me. Napatingala ako sa kaniya. Bahagyang pumikit ang kanan kong mata nang idampi niya ang kaniyang ilong sa akin. 

"I'm happy that you can't seem to breathe without me, but this is really important and just brief. I'll be here before you even get bored," the teasing in his tone didn't escape me. 

"Napakahangin mo. You're not my lungs," medyo iritado ko nang asik. 

Tumawa siya at hinalikan ang pisngi ko bago ako yakapin. I pursed my lips in annoyance as I hugged him tightly. He kissed my hair.
