I slowly opened the paper bag and frowned upon seeing a box with an expensive brand of phone and two magazines. Inuna kong kunin ang box, saglit iyong tinitigan.
It's been almost three years since the last time I held a phone. Seeing one right now felt so strange. I took the phone out.
"Your mother said she already saved our contacts there," si Kuya Angelus sa aking likuran.
He chuckled.
"Is this old? Bakit low battery agad?"
"That's brand new. Dapat kahapon ko pa 'yan ibibigay. But I had to do something with that. I forgot to charge it, my bad, huh?"
"You drained the battery?"
"I didn't do it on purpose; you have to chill."
"Then why didn't you give this to me immediately? Ano bang ginawa mo at na-drain?"
I frowned, watching his broad shoulders.
I swallowed hard at his intense gaze. With his hair down, he appears much darker. The usual dark aura he exudes is enhanced by the five o'clock shadow on his face.
"I just did the right thing. It's for your sake. Good night, Farida." His voice was grim, and he turned his back on me.
He closed the door, and just like that, he was gone, but his scent stuck around. After several conversations and what he did earlier, he started to bother me.
Firstly, it's not normal to talk to someone you barely know, like he does to me. Who's in their right mind to thrust their finger in someone's mouth? And now, his ability to shift his mood is bothersome.
I have a severe case of mood swings, but his case is different. It's bothering me. But why am I even thinking about him? He doesn't matter! I don't have to socialize with him always.
I just need to be casual and probably try to be friendly with him when Mama and his father are around us. Tama. That's it!
I smiled. It's been years. I miss going to school and making friends.
