Chapter 55

I was screaming while a group of men were pulling my arms. The noise from downstairs and outside should make me scared. But it didn't. Those people who came rushing in were with Angelus. They're here for me! 

It gave me hope. I wasn't expecting something like this to happen. Akala ko ay walang pupunta sa akin dito para tumulong. I was lucky that Sam was kind enough to save me years ago. Nang makaapak ako sa lugar na ito, alam ko agad na walang tutulong sa akin. 

The people in this place are loyal to Ristan. They'll never betray him for someone like me. Even the man who opened Ristan's door for us didn't give me the same feeling I felt for Sam. I heard he was his assistant. One look at him, and I can already tell that he doesn't care. Kaya hindi na ako umasang makakalaya ako. 

But Angelus came. I thought once he learned about my disappearance, he'd get angry and look for me like normal people do. But I forgot that he's far from normal. He is sly and malevolent. I should have known that he would pull out all the stops to find me before the day was out. 

"Let go of me, assholes!" Sigaw ko sa dalawang lalaking hawak ang aking mga braso at pilit iyong hinila. 

But the brutes are strong! May isang lalaki sa likuran ko at ang isa ay nasa harapan, alertong nakatingin sa paligid at may hawak na baril. 

The men didn't spare me a glance. They're dragging me as if I'm a fucking sack. Kahit anong sigaw at pagpupumiglas ko ay para lamang iyong galaw ng langgam para sa kanila!

I muttered a curse under my breath. Wala pa akong kain. I am not hungry, but my body is getting weak. I didn't even drink a fucking cup of water. 

Napaigtad ako at halos tumili nang may sumabog mula sa ibaba! I jumped at the sound of the structure collapsing and felt a disturbance on the floor. Tumigil ang lalaking nasa harapan namin, ganoon din ang may hawak sa akin. 

"Hey, Michael! What happened there?" the man in front of me said to his walkie-talkie.

"U—Use the secret passage..." The man on the other line coughed, and I heard gunshots. "I heard... reinforcements are coming. These people are not the authorities. It seemed like a private organization."

Ristan's curse pierced my ears. Halos mapaatras ako nang sumulpot siya sa aking tabi, sapo ang nagdurugo niyang tagiliran. Nanlamig ako sa dugong nakita. He's pale and sweating. Inagaw niya ang walkie-talkie, nag-iigting ang mga panga. 

"Kill everyone downstairs before I kill each one of you! Order Kristoffer's unit to look for Angelus Griego and shoot him on the spot!" he said, veins popping out of his forehead, and slammed the walkie-talkie to his goon's chest.
