Jungkook pulled away suddenly, breaking the kiss and pushing her, YN fell back and stumbled slightly, her heart still racing as she tried to regain her composure.
“Jungkook, what—” she started, but her words died in her throat as she realized what had just happened.
Behind her, she heard someone clear their throat. Turning, she saw Lee Xin standing there, his eyes scanning her from head to toe with a smug, almost predatory smirk on his face.
“Well, well aren't you daughter of kim soo hyun,” Lee Xin drawled, his voice dripping with amusement. “I didn’t expect to see you here,. And in such a beautiful dress, no less.”
YN swallowed the disgust rising in her throat. “haha !! sorry sorry to disturb you ,” she muttered, trying to step away, but Lee Xin grabbed her hand before she could move, pulling her closer,
Lee Xin’s eyes gleamed with recognition. His lips curled into a cruel smile. "Well, well. Isn't this a surprise? The daughter of Kim Soohyun at my party," he said, stepping closer.
YN’s nerves were on edge, but she decided to play along, masking her disgust with a forced flirtatious grin. She leaned into the role, reacting in a way that made her skin crawl. “I couldn’t resist the invitation, Lee,” she replied, her voice low, dripping with false charm.
"Let’s dance, sweetheart,” Lee Xin said, his smile sharp and dangerous as he led her away from the dance floor.
YN glanced over her shoulder, searching for Jungkook in the crowd. Her heart sank when she couldn’t see him. Did he just leave me? she thought, panic starting to creep in.
Why did he kiss me? Her mind swirled with confusion and questions, but she had no time to dwell on it as Lee Xin pulled her toward a secluded hallway, far from the eyes of the party.
YN’s heart raced, her mind calculating every possible escape. “Such a hottie," he whispered, his hand tightening around her wrist. "But how did you sneak into my party?"
Before she could answer, his hand shot up to her throat, lightly choking her. His voice was laced with danger. "Tell me, darling, why are you really here?"
YN fought the rising panic, her mind screaming for her to act. She couldn't take it anymore. Her knee shot up, hitting him hard between the legs. Lee Xin groaned, stumbling back as pain crossed his face.
She stepped back, catching her breath, when suddenly — a gunshot echoed in the hallway.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Lee Xin’s body crumpled to the floor, blood pooling beneath him. YN’s breath hitched as she looked up in shock, her eyes landing on Jungkook, standing at the entrance of the hallway, a gun still smoking in his hand.
He didn’t even glance at Lee Xin’s fallen body, his gaze fixed solely on YN. Cold. Calculating. “I told you to stay close,” he said sharply, striding forward and grabbing her wrist.
YN ripped her hand away from him, furious. “Stay close? You pushed me into him! You put me in danger on purpose, didn’t you?”
Jungkook pulled her down the hallway, ignoring her protests. “We don’t have time for this. Move.”
“You used me aren't you! He pulled her by wrist and starts to run What the hell, Jungkook?!” YN shouted, her anger boiling over as they hurried down the corridor.
Before Jungkook could respond, the distant shouts of guards reached their ears, the sound of heavy footsteps echoing closer. “We’ve got company,” Jungkook muttered, pulling YN faster.
The two of them dashed outside, bursting into the open as rain poured down in the road.
They were immediately soaked, the cold water clinging to their skin. YN was still fuming, her eyes burning into Jungkook. “You absolute bastard!” she yelled over the downpour. “You knew exactly what you were doing!”
Jungkook’s jaw clenched, but he said nothing as they approached their car. YN stomped ahead, shaking with both fury and cold. When they reached the vehicle, Jungkook cursed under his breath.
“Shit,” he muttered. “Key’s missing.”
YN turned on him, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Oh, perfect. Now what, genius! Are we going to be killed by his men?”
Jungkook’s eyes scanned the street and landed on a man about to take his bike nearby. Without a second thought, Jungkook ran over, yanking the man off the bike and sending him sprawling onto the wet pavement.
“Get on!” Jungkook barked, revving the engine as rainwater streamed down his face.
“You’re insane!” YN protested, but the sound of the guards' shouting made her scramble onto the bike behind him.
Jungkook shot her a look over his shoulder. “Hold on.”
As they sped off into the rain-soaked streets, cars quickly followed, headlights cutting through the storm as they chased the bike. YN clung to Jungkook, her heart pounding as the tires skidded slightly on the slick roads.
