PAST:
First Meeting in Japan
It was late at night, and the unfamiliar streets of Tokyo were dimly lit. Y/N stood on the sidewalk, feeling a mixture of fear and frustration. Her cab driver had dropped her off at the wrong place, and she had no idea how to get back to her hotel.
Her phone was dead, and to make matters worse, the streets seemed silenced, and the feeling of being lost in a foreign country began to weigh on her. Y/N wandered aimlessly, hoping to find someone who could help her, but no one was around.
Suddenly, she spotted a man walking down the street, his face partially hidden under a hood. He looked approachable. Desperate, Y/N hurried toward him and called out, her voice shaky, "Excuse me… Can you help me?"
The man stopped in his tracks, surprised by the sudden question. He pulled back his hood, revealing a pair of kind eyes that softened as they met hers.
"Oh! Korean…"
"Yes, I am. Do you need help?"
Y/N sighed in relief. "I’m lost… My cab driver left me here, and I don’t know how to get back to my hotel. I don’t speak Japanese, and I’m new to Japan," she explained, her voice trembling.
The man smiled gently, understanding her panic. "Don’t worry, I can help you." He pulled out his phone and quickly asked, "What’s the name of your hotel?"
Y/N handed him a small piece of paper with the hotel’s name written on it. He nodded and looked up directions. "It’s not far from here, but walking there at this time of night isn’t the safest. I’ll walk you back. I’m Jungkook, by the way."
Y/N smiled softly, her anxiety easing a little. "Thank you, Jungkook. I’m Y/N."
As they walked side by side through the quiet streets, Jungkook made small talk, asking about her experience in Japan. Despite the initial fear, Y/N found herself feeling a strange sense of comfort around him.
By the time they reached her hotel, the tension had faded, and Y/N couldn’t help but feel grateful for the unexpected kindness. "I don’t know how to thank you enough," she said.
Jungkook smiled, his eyes twinkling. "No need to thank me. Just happy I could help."
And from that moment, a bond began to form between them—a bond that would soon blossom into something deeper.
---
A few days had passed since Y/N’s unexpected meeting with Jungkook in the streets of Tokyo. She hadn’t stopped thinking about their brief encounter and how kind he had been. She decided to treat herself to lunch at a cozy little restaurant.
As she sat by the window, lost in thought, a familiar voice broke through her reverie.
"Y/N?"
She looked up, startled, to see none other than Jungkook standing by her table. He smiled, clearly surprised to see her again.
"Oh! Jungkook!" she said, her face lighting up. "What are you doing here?"
Jungkook grinned and gestured to the empty seat beside her. "Mind if I join you?"
Y/N nodded, still smiling. "Of course, sit! I didn’t think I’d see you again so soon."
He sat down, settling in comfortably. "Neither did I, but it looks like we keep crossing paths."
Y/N laughed, and they quickly fell into easy conversation. They talked about their experiences in Japan, laughing over the cultural differences and their struggles with the language. As the conversation flowed, they both felt at ease, as if they had known each other for much longer.
After a while, Y/N tilted her head, a playful smile on her lips. "So… are you here by yourself? No… girlfriend waiting for you back home?"
Jungkook chuckled, shaking his head. "No girlfriend. A lot of people have approached me, but I’m still searching for the right one."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? And what’s she like, this girl you’re searching for?"
Jungkook leaned in slightly, a playful glint in his eyes. "Well, maybe she’s in this very restaurant… Or maybe," he added, his voice dropping to a soft, teasing tone, "she’s sitting right in front of me."
Y/N blushed at his words, her cheeks heating up as she tried to keep her composure.
They ordered food and continued to talk, the chemistry between them growing with every shared laugh and glance.
After lunch, Jungkook suggested they take a walk, and Y/N agreed. They left the restaurant and wandered to a nearby lake park, where the cherry blossoms were still in bloom.
The soft glow of the streetlights illuminated the path as they strolled along the water’s edge, the peaceful atmosphere making everything feel almost dreamlike.
They stopped by a bench near the lake, sitting together in comfortable silence as they watched the petals gently fall into the water.
Y/N glanced at Jungkook, her heart feeling light. "This place is beautiful," she whispered.
Jungkook nodded, turning to her with a soft smile. "It really is. But I think the company makes it even better."
Y/N’s heart fluttered at his words, the connection between them undeniable. Under the cherry blossoms, their bond grew stronger, and in that moment, Y/N knew that their chance meeting had been the start of something special.
