Months Later

The days in LA slipped by faster than you had imagined. You were diving into new projects at work, making friends with a few of your colleagues, and getting used to the rhythm of life in the city. Work was rewarding, your apartment felt cozy, but there was still something hanging in the air—something unresolved.

It had been weeks since you and Jenna first bumped into each other. Since then, she has been a sporadic presence in his life, whenever she wasn't away for filming, premieres and press tours. When she was in LA, she made it a point to see you, like clockwork. As much as you missed what you had shared back in the Bahamas and that night in Miami, you were content with just having her in your life at all, rather than risking everything by trying to cross that line again.

One morning, at your favorite café, you sipped your coffee as Jenna sat across from you, her eyes bright as she shared a story about a co-star. You'd been listening, but your mind wandered as she smiled.

"What?" she asked, her voice playful as she caught you staring.

You shrugged, trying to play it off. "Nothing. Just thinking... You've been around a lot lately."

She leaned forward, a mischievous smile tugging at her lips. "Is that a bad thing?"

"No," you admitted, unable to hide the warmth in your voice. "It's not."

Jenna raised an eyebrow, her playful grin growing. "Good, because I was starting to think you might be getting sick of me."

You shook your head, laughing softly. "No chance. You make my mornings way more interesting."

She sipped her drink, her eyes still locked on you. "So, what's on your agenda today? Saving the world one building at a time?"

You smirked. "Something like that. Just some revisions for a new project. What about you? More acting stuff?"

Jenna leaned back in her chair, stretching her arms. "Yeah, a few table reads later. And then, I'm supposed to have dinner with my agent tonight. Just the usual LA life."

"Sounds glamorous," you teased.

"Oh, totally. Nothing says glamour like rereading the same thing a hundred times."

You chuckled. "Hey, at least you're good at it."

She rolled her eyes, but the smile remained. "It's a skill, I guess."

The conversation flowed easily, the teasing and banter familiar. There was no pressure, no heavy emotions to weigh down the moment—just you and Jenna, enjoying each other's company, like you had lately.

A few day later you were deep into the project, sketches and blueprints spread across your table as you tried to focus. It was the weekend, and you knew you should be relaxing, but work always seemed to call, and you couldn't ignore it. A low sigh escaped your lips as you ran a hand through your hair, eyes scanning the lines of the design, looking for any last details that needed tweaking.

Your phone buzzed beside you, pulling your attention away from the papers. Glancing at the screen, you saw Jenna's name lighting up.

Jenna: Movie night at yours? I'll bring the snacks.

You blinked, a small smile tugging at the corner of your mouth. It wasn't the first time Jenna had suggested something like this—spontaneous, easy, and familiar. You weren't even sure when this little routine between the two of you had started, but it felt natural. Like she was just a text away, ready to shake up whatever quiet plans you had.
