Koga's POV
"Heads up, everyone, we have no idea what will approach us here. It's best that we stay on our guard." I warned as we neared Lady Pallas's castle. My team nodded, and from their expressions, I knew they took my words to heart. The Young Saint's and I were investigating a possible cosmo outbreak in Pallasvelda. We were, unfortunately, the only ones who could as Seiya and the other gold knights were off on other business, and both Saori and Pallas were taking a day off together. Normally, I would be pleased to go on a mission like this, especially since it usually meant fights and those kinds of battles got my blood pumping. But, I was upset because my lover was stuck at home, praying for my safety and probably weeping to herself about how much she misses me. I missed her just as much, and I hoped to get this mission over quick so I could go back home and see her. During our walk to the castle, I suddenly felt something strange. It almost felt like my lovers cosmo. "Uh, do you mind if I catch up with you guys later?" I asked nervously, seeing my friends nod. I immediately raced off, feeling that cosmo get stronger the further I got to my destination. Then I heard her voice call out to me. "Koga! Hey, Koga!" I saw the shape of my girlfriend in the distance, and I sped up until I was closing distance between us. She was waving to me with one of those beautiful smiles on her face. I waved back, my smile growing as I continued running towards her. My hand just barely touched her face before I felt something off. Before I could do anything about that, a rod came out of nowhere and slammed through my lover's chest. Her eyes closed, and she slumped over, her hair covering her face but doing nothing to disguise the fact that she was now dead. I stood there for a moment in shock before I fell to my knees and cradled her to my chest."My love...can you hear me?" No response. "Please wake up!"Don't leave me alone here..." I whispered brokenly, clutching her hand as though by doing this, she would instantly awaken in my arms. She still never spoke a word, having passed on to the world of the dead. I let out a heartbroken scream of grief before I laid my head down on her chest and wept. Damn....it happened again. I let someone I loved the most get killed on my watch.Again."Great job, Koga." I berated myself miserably in between heavy sobs. "You got your lover killed because you weren't even strong enough to protect her..."  I continued weeping for a while, convinced my lover was dead and her blood was on my hands. It was then I felt that deadly cosmo again, and I slowly stopped crying, realizing what was going on. "T-This is an illusion..." I sniffled, watching as the darkness fell away and my lover's body disappeared from my arms. I shook myself out of it, wiping my eyes quickly. "She's at home, waiting for you. She's alive. You didn't fail her like you failed Aria. " I chanted to myself like a mantra, running back to where my friends were. Yuma noticed my despondent expression and weepy eyes when I got back. "Koga...have you been crying?" She asked in curiosity, taking in the way I shifted uncomfortably at her comment. I took a deep breath and tried to fight the tears pricking in my eyes at the reminder of my fear. "Come on, everyone, we got a job to do!" I proclaimed, running down the road as the others followed behind me. I was thankful that what I had seen was an illusion and not at all real. Otherwise, I might lose my mind, and who knows what would happen then.
