Wings of Fire Book 1: Finding Purpose (Wip)

•Chapter 4•

Radiance stood taller, liking the way Sunstone treated her.

Sunstone stopped bowing, and his stomach rumbled. He's always hungry and he hasn't had anything to eat in about 4 hours. He was practically starving.

"Uhm.. where's the cafeteria? Do you guys know?" He asked.

Snowbird shrugged. Corroborre shrugged. Lunarpool shook his head. Viper swished her hear to the side and did a sassy shrug. He liked that.

Radiance and Reef nodded.

"I can lead you to it. It's a little complicated to navigate the the long hallways. One time I accidentally went to Stonemover's cave." Reef chuckled.

"Thanks." Sunstone said happily. "I'm starving."

"Could you guys bring me back some rabbit? I saw they had some." Asked Snowbird, doodling on a paper.

"Oh, yeah bring me back some to! I'd love a rabbit right now." Said Corroborre.

"I would like some fruits, please. Just mangos, strawberries and blueberries." Radiance said.

"Alright." Said Reef.

"Got it." Sunstone said, nodding. They walked out, and Reef lead Sunstone to the cafeteria for food.

They walked in, a nice lunchroom worker greeted them.

"Hi there." She said. "What can I get for you guys?"

"Can I get a fruit bowl for princess radiance by the way, her usual fruit mix?" Reef asked.

"Mangos, strawberries, and blueberries?" The lunchroom lady asked.

"That's right!" Reef said.

Sunstone was wide eyed. Radiance and Reef must have been here last year. They know her usual! That's awesome!

Reef continued saying what their clawmates wanted, then he looked at Sunstone. "What do you want?" He asked.

Sunstone looked up at the menu above the counter. "Can I have some pork, potatoes, and.." he looked at the sides. "And a roll of bread?" He asked.

"Certainly!" The lunchroom lady said. She grabbed plates and pit food on it, them put all the plates on a disposable tray. "Here you are." She handed the tray to Reef.

"Thank you! Have a good day Quickmind!" Reef said.

"You to Reef." The nightwing lunchroom lady said back to Reef. "You to, skywing."

Sunstone nodded. "Thank you. I'm Sunstone, by the way."

"Hi, Sunstone. I hope you have a great first year here." Quickmind said, waving to them as they walked out.

They went out of the cafeteria, and Reef was leading Sunstone back to the den.

They went up stairs since Sunstone couldn't fly. They finally got in and everyone who ordered food's head snapped around as they heard the door open and smelled the steamy, hot food.

"Wonderful. You're back. And at a perfect time." Said radiance, walking yo to take her food.

Sunstone was surprised she didn't act spoiled or snobby or like she deserves everything. She just acts like a regal, yet normal dragon.

Radiance grabbed her food, and went to sit at the table. Sunstone took the tray of food from Reef and sat it on the table. He grabbed his food, and began eating.

Snowbird and Corroborre came and got their food, and began eating.

Everdragon enjoyed thier food.

While everyone was feasting, Sunstone was in deep thought.

I like these dragons. I think they like me to. That Lunarpool one is nice. Viper is awesome. I don't know why I like her so much? Why am I so drawn to her? She's very pretty, but aren't most girl dragons? Their all pretty right? But she's just very pretty. And her personality is wonderful. She also is sassy, but not obnoxiously sassy like Chikyu back home. Snowbird is nice. Radiance is nice. A little sassy, and very royal, but nice. Corroborre seem like a nice dude. He hasn't spoke much, but seems nice. Reef is a good friend of what I've seen so far. He thought. His mind kept going back to Viper, but he didn't know why. He barely knew her! He was drawn to her and he had no clue why.

They continued eating and Sunstone continued thinking and eating.

I like them. I think I'll get along well with these dragons. Sunstone thought.
