Chapter 18: An Overdue Apology

Lennox's POV

The night when Zyx and I reached Lora and took him home was the same night i ran into an old friend..well she ran into me. Lora, Zyx and I decided to get ice cream at his favourite parlour, when i was lifted off the ground by someone, dust-covered her muscles from head to toe as she faced me, her face covered in bruises and cuts and her eyes red.

"Celeste..what the fuck happened to you? Why are u covered in dust-"

She squeezed me in a hug, sniffing and holding me close as she explained.

" i heard about what happened at the Upperclass party in the Capital from Loaf, i was so... I was angry at you for not telling me anything anymore, you were always with Zyx and I never see you, not even on stage anymore. I wanted to kick your ass, but when I saw everyone exit and you enter. I tried to run after you, to save you but you just shut me out again...even after the building collapsed due to the magick, I still- I still climbed into to rubble to save you, I saved a bunch of other people."

She looked down, not wanting me to see her upset face.

" when i saw your necklace, I was..destroyed, i started to destroy everything in sight looking for you. People filmed and yelled at me, reminding me of my..past life. I didn't stop until Loaf tried to pull me off, though I did send them into one of the concrete walls"

We all looked at her in shock, she smiled and laughed as she wiped the dust off her eyes.

"They're fine, just a week of hospital for them. point is- why don't u talk to me anymore?"

I looked down, then towards Zyx, i realised then how much I neglected my own best friend for Mr hot Stuff here, and how much she actually cared about me.

" if it wasn't for Loaf's information, or Zyx sending me your location..i would've "

I stopped her right there, hugging her tight. She sighed and wrapped herself around me again, smiling on my skin as I reassured her for the first time in forever.

" I'm so so sorry Celeste... I just been having too much fun with Zyx."

"too much huh?"

We chuckled as I pulled away and looked into her eyes, using Zyx's spell he used to heal me to heal her scars.

"but please... I'd never leave my bestie's side. never in ten million fucking years dumbass. but i don't blame you for thinking that. I was an asshole to you, I pushed you away, and yet you chose to stay, you were the first to never give up on me  and even though I might have just gotten in courtship"

"WHAT"

"It's A LONG STORY...but that's tea for our tea time podcast this Friday... the point is you deserve better than me, you're an amazing friend, and almost just as good as me in performance."

She hit my shoulder slightly as i laid my head on her shoulder. i looked up at her, tearing up slightly as i held her like a little child holding their sibling.

"I care about you so much, and Zyx has allowed me to learn to open up more, even though he sucks at that too."

"aww...WAIT HEY"

"*chuckles* I'm so sorry Celeste. I'm working on being better, and what's a better starting point than giving up my ego to my best friend in this whole dipshit of a world."

She laughed and picked me up, looking down at me, then spinning me like a princess before resting her head on my shoulder and hands on my waist.

"I forgive you dumbass, and I kinda knew about you and Zyx...its all over the news now"
