Chapter 15: Regrets and broken bonds

Axton's POV

my heart shattered as i saw Lora's black expression as she walked towards me, I knew she'd never trust my word ever again after I told her the truth, but she deserved to know.

" the main reason I didn't want to grow close to... or trust my father is because, when we first met, we did speak. but he told me about his upcoming plans, he told me about everything King Zorlex was planning and when he told me that the magick you're learning if charged powerfully enough, can alter the fabric of my world.. I panicked. So he told me, if wanted to protect you, I'd have to convince you to join the rebellion...and kill them all."

I knelt to Lora and held her hands, covering my tears and shame.

" I didn't...i didn't want him to...hurt you again. when he nearly burnt your skin at the exit of LIGHTS, I feared his intentions since."

" so you want to kill him..."

"I don't want him to hurt you-"

"HED NEVER DO THAT"

"BUT HE ALREADY HAS!"

Lora shook her head in disbelief .

" who did u run to when he slapped you when you tried to go to that concert? who held you close when you were dealing with your gender dysphoria?"

I shouted, finally letting my anger out and my tears fall.

"IF HE REALLY FUCKING LOVED YOU..WHY DID HE DO ALL THIS SHIT TO YOU?"

"you really don't get it, do you axton? but then again, you don't know whats its like to have family...a stable family."

"don't...don't u dare EVER GO THERE"

" BUT AM I WRONG? AT LEAST ZYX TRIED. YOUR PARENTS LEFT YOU TO DIE!"

My facial expressions grew cold as I looked at Lora. My gaze was sharp as she held the other half of our matching necklace.

"Remember this? we made this the night after I saved you at Zyx's penthouse...as a  promise to protect each other, no matter what"

i watched as she looked at me, that once happy and loving gaze turning cold, i could barely recognise her anymore as she dropped it right in front of me.

"now i think i regret that"

"don't say that Lora"

"...i regret trusting you..i regret loving you."

i felt my body grow limb as i fell to my knees, watching as she grabbed her bag.

"i never want to meet you ever again...stay away from me and Zyx..."

I ran after her, watching as she fell onto the hoverbike and left,  as i cried out to the world.
