Chapter 14 The Big Surprise

Triton makes it home and walks upstairs; he sees Malone still Lying down
Triton: Baby, wake up. I have some fantastic news!
Malone stretches and sits up
Malone: What is it, Triton?
Triton: I found someone to accept my business idea!
Malone: Really, that's great! I'm so happy for you!
Triton: Thanks, babe; I'm celebrating with a friend!
Malone: You and Chris?
Triton: No, another friend, I haven't told him yet!
Malone: Okay, well, enjoy! So proud of you! I knew you could do it!
Triton: Baby, why are you still in bed? Are you still feeling sick?
Malone: Yes, I'm very nauseous!
Triton: You don't think you're pregnant? Do you?
Malone: No, it might have been something I ate on my lunch break yesterday.
Triton: Okay, just making sure! Maybe you should still buy a pregnancy test!
Malone: Triton, I said I'm fine, okay! Look, if I'm still feeling bad by the end of the week and my period doesn't come, I'll buy one!
Triton: I hope you are pregnant. I can't wait to bed a dad soon.
Triton kisses Malone and walks to get ready. Triton finishes getting ready
Triton: Hey, babe, I will meet with Chris before my other friend! I'll be home later tonight. I hope you feel better. If you need me, call me!
Malone: Okay, yeah, have fun!
Triton kisses Malone on the forehead. Triton gets in the car and calls Chris; Chris answers
Malone lies their thinking in her head, who could be Triton's other friend
Chris: Hey, man, it's been a while since I heard from you!
Triton: Yeah, man, I've been busy, but I have some exciting news for us!
Chris: I can use all the excitement right now, man.
Triton: Meet me at Bricks Bar for a little while!
Chris: Okay, man, I'm headed there now!
Chris and Triton head to Bricks Bar; they both arrive and go in to sit down
Chris: Man, you were sobbing the last time I saw you! What's the exciting news?
Triton: Okay, so you remember the counselor card you gave me to see?
Chris: Yes, what about her?
Triton: Well, I decided to visit her, you know, to discuss what I've been going through! In that process, man, she did a huge blessing!
Chris: Alright, spill it, man!
They both laugh
Triton: I told her about our plan. She hooked me up with her cousin to help get us in the door, and he wrote the 42-million-dollar check!
Chris: NO WAY MAN! That's good, man!
Triton: Perfect for us both. Tomorrow, we can cash the check and buy the building!
Chris: That's what I'm talking about! Where are the shots? Bartender!
Bartender: Yes, can I help you?
Chris: Would you mind bringing me and my brother here two shots of Jose?
Bartender: Coming right up!
Triton: Woah, man! I'm not drinking!
Chris: What, why not?
Triton: Well, between you and me, I decided to take Adrian out to eat for appreciation on our behalf!
Chris swallows both shots hard
Chris: Are you kidding me? Malone, if she ever finds out, she will kill you!
Triton: That's why she never will find out! It's just a tiny appreciation, nothing serious.
Chris: If you say so, be careful now you are playing with fire!
Triton starts laughing
Chris: I'm serious, man!
Triton: Yeah, Yeah! I have to go. I told Adrian I'll pick her up at 7!
Chris: Wait! Not only are you taking her out, but she's riding in the Tahoe, too.
Chris starts laughing
Triton: Be cool, man; I have to get going!
Chris: Alright, man, be safe!
Triton leaves out of Bricks Bar to go ahead and get Adrian
Chris: Bartender! I need three more shots!
Bartender: You better take it easy, sir; that's a potent drink!
Chris: You haven't seen accessible yet!
Triton arrives at Adrian's house. She walks outside in a black dress and some silver heels
Adrian: I see you found the address well!
Triton paused and stared at Adrian
Triton: Yeah, it wasn't anything a little GPS couldn't solve. You look wonderful!
Adrian: Thanks. It's just a little something I put together. I hope it's not too much!
Triton: No, not at all.
Adrian: You look good, as well!
Triton: Thank you, it's something slight!
Triton opens the truck door for her and gets in
Adrian: I love your truck! It's like a midnight black!
Triton: Thank you. This has always been my dream truck since I was a kid.
Adrian smiles at Triton; they arrive at Larry's Steakhouse
Triton: We are here; I hope you like Steak!
Adrian: Yes, I love Steak, which is one of my favorites!
Triton gets out and opens the door for Adrian; they walk inside and sit down
Waiter: Welcome to Larry's Steak House! Can I get you two started with drinks?
Adrain: I'll have a lemonade mix with a cocktail.
Triton: I'll have a small glass of Jose and a medium coke.
Waiter: Okay, coming right up! Do you two know what you want to eat?
Triton: Yes, I'll have the number #8. Can you make sure the Steak is well done?
Adrian: I'll have the same as him, thank you!
Waiter: Okay, I'll be right back with your orders!
Adrian: So, how long have you lived here?
Triton: I've lived here since I was a kid born and raised here.
Adrian: That's good to know this is a fantastic city!
Triton: Yes, it is! What about you? How long have you lived here?
Adrian: Actually, I just moved here a year ago. I'm from Colorado!
Triton: What is a beautiful lady like yourself doing here alone?
Adrian smiles at Triton
Adrian: My last relationship ended 11 months ago!
Triton: May I ask what happened?
Adrian: I found out he was cheating on me. He claimed his job kept him all night at work. One day, I followed him right to her house. It was the worst day of my life!
Triton: I'm sorry to hear that! You deserve so much better!
Adrian smiles at Triton. The Waiter brings their food and drinks
Waiter: Okay, I have everything right here. I hope you two enjoy it!
Adrian: Thank you!
Triton: Thank you!
Adrian: Is brown your favorite liquid?
Triton: I love brown Alcohol! It just gives you that confident feeling!
Adrian: I can tell you're looking a little drunk. Are you going to be able to drive us home?
Triton: Yeah, I do this all the time! What about you? That's a pretty potent cocktail!
Adrian: I can handle any drink!
Triton: Oh really? Waiter, hey, Waiter!
Waiter: Yes, can I help you?
Triton: Can you bring Ms. Adrian here two shots of brown? Also, get another one for me.
Waiter: Yes, I will! Be right back
The Waiter brings them more shots. Adrian takes both shots at one time, and so does Triton
Triton: Okay, I was wrong. I see you, Adrian!
Adrian: I love having to be underestimated!
Triton and Adrian start eating, then head back to the car; he drives her to her house; they both are drunk
Adrian: Thank you for tonight! I enjoyed myself!
Triton: No need to thank me. That's the least I can do after you've done something big for me!
Do you mind if I use your restroom?
Adrian: No, not all come in.
They both get out of the car and walk inside her home
Triton: You have a fantastic home!
Adrian: Thank you! The bathroom is down the hall on the right!
Triton goes to the bathroom, and Adrian has a conversation with herself
Adrian: This man is marriage! No, Adrian, pull yourself together! I had way too many drinks!
Adrian couldn't resist herself, and she waited until he came out of the bathroom
Triton: Thanks for letting me use your bathroom.
Adrian and Triton stare at one another and Start kissing. One thing leads to another....
Meanwhile, back home, Malone couldn't shake her weird feelings, so she decided to call Triton; she called him five times but didn't get an answer. Triton was lying down next to Adrian in the bed, passed out asleep. When he awakened, he checked his phone and saw five missed calls from Malone. He realizes it is 3:00 am and jumps up out of the bed
