A/N - Massive TW guys, implied rape and mentions of blood. I'm so sorry about this but I am using this story as a way of healing parts of myself so I hope you can understand!!

Marjorie’s mind was racing, praying over and over again in an eternally uncomfortable silence that Autumn had heard what Dave had whispered to her back in the bar.

She was coming to save her. She was sure of it. Autumn barely ever missed things, even clocking onto small glances and details that the ordinary eye would miss. Surely her intoxicated state didn't mean her strangely talented observation skill was inaccessible to her.

Right?

Unbenounced to Marjorie, Autumn, in fact, did not hear dave. She sat back at the bar, racking at her brain in an attempt to figure out what it was that he had said. Danger was inevitable for Marjorie if Dave did in fact work with Autumn's estranged father, he said himself he'd slit her throat. At least, Autumn assumed David was talking about Marjorie. The word “whore” really didn't suit her.

This threat was the least of Autumn's worries. Dave had enough confidence to say it to her face, not behind closed doors or out of her hearing range, somewhere she couldn't hear it. The bigger threat was the message he'd made sure only Marjorie could hear because, unlike the threat on her life, Autumn couldn't hear it.

What threat could be worse than death?

“Fuck”

“Well someone isn't in a good mood. What's up, love?”

Sara had witnessed the comotion the three adults had caused a bit earlier in the night.

“Did you know that couple?”

“I know the girl, yeah ….. the man…. not so much.”

He was “Hot single dad” until very recently.

“Do you know the girl well?”

Yes.

Nowhere near as much as she'd like to know her.

Please, Reece, keep her safe long enough for me to love her how I'm supposed to.

“I suppose..”

Sara squinted her eyes knowingly at Autumn, understanding in a brief conversation what Autumn and Marjorie still couldn't figure out for themselves.

“Well, from what I saw, it seems like you know her quite well and are obviously worried about her, however, I'm sure if she had any concerns, she would reach out to you, yeah?”

Sara was very careful with the words she used, not wanting to make this topic any more difficult for Autumn, she could tell that the woman obviously cared for the lady that had walked away from her.

She just didn't know the extent of her feelings.

Autumn would kill that man if it meant keeping Marjorie safe.

“I don't know ….. I'd like to think so. She's distant lately.

Gently, Sara sat down next to the older woman.

“Look, it may not be my place but …. I could …”

Autumn startled slightly, feeling a hand lightly graze her thigh. It wasn't Marjorie next to her so feeling someone touch her so lovingly was strange.

“..... Help take your mind off of her for a few hours. No strings attached.”

Sara was close to her. Autumn felt her warm breath on her neck, twitching at the sensation.

Wishing it was Marjorie that close to her didn't help, she knew it wasn't her. However, the idea of having some peace, a moment where Marjorie wasn't the only thing encapsulating her whole being, sounded extraordinary to Autumn in this moment. This fact meant that when Sara started nibbling at Autumn's neck, she didn't refuse the advances.
