Hello. This part takes place after a 9-year time skip from the last chapter. I'll come back and fill in the gaps eventually, but these parts make enough sense as a timeskip. I do need to add a part about Felix and Micah and this whole situation, but here's the base knowledge to make it make sense.
The creator made Felix devote so much time to the cult that it was concerning to everyone around him, and eventually, Felix and Micah had a falling out and stopped communicating. Doomed yaoi 😥😥 (dw they're like. Talking again. Kind of)
They're still both very in love with each other, but there's very conflicting feelings on both sides and a whole bunch of yummy angst 😝😝😝
Oh also Felix is like. Kind of feral in this chapter.
Warnings for this chapter: a lot of discussion of religious trauma and cults, mentions of self harm, mentions of the loss of an eye through stabbing, implications of abuse, mentions of alcohol
Enjoy!
----------------------------------------------------------------------A lot has happened since Felix had spoken to the creator. It had promised him an infinite, heavenly afterlife with Micah, a write-off of all of his horrible actions, a ticket away from responsibility- for a small price of course. He had to spread It's gospel, inform the public of who the real Lord was.
He'd worn the robe, he'd marketed, he'd garnered a following. He'd given it access to his body to speak through him. He'd given up his friends, his boyfriend, his life for it, all with little doubt. He'd felt pain, and sadness, and betrayal, not understanding why it wanted to take away his life. But he didn't ever question it. He'd worshiped it, he'd devoted everything to it, he adored it- it was his Lord. His love… He remembers speaking to it, believing with his whole heart that it's words were true.
“My Lord. My savior. I would do anything for you, I'd give up everything, for you are divine and I am a mere man at your feet. I am the planet to your sun, for I do not matter in your presence. I am the flower to your soil, for you keep me alive. I owe my mind, body, and soul to you, my Lord.”
How foolish of him to believe he wasn't merely a puppet. He'd let the being speak with him, use his body, touch him… he'd rather not dwell on that. He had been thrown away, after giving away everything for it…
“Felix… I'm disappointed in you.” “What? My Lord, I've done everything you've asked of me. I've spread your word. I've given you my body, I've told people how you are their Lord. What more could you possibly want from me?” “Oh, darling… I'm merely disappointed I couldn't keep you to myself for longer. You've outgrown your use.” “... My Lord, what are you saying?” “I'm letting you go, Felix. I don't need you anymore.” “... What? My Savior, I'd do anything for you- I've done everything for you, given everything to you! I don't understand, why must you toss me away?” “I'm sorry, my darling… but you cannot act as my puppet anymore. That's all you were, after all.” “Just… A puppet? M-my Lord, I cared for you… I loved you… What will your followers say? Why did you need me if not for a mouth piece, what have I done wrong?” “That's enough, Felix. You'll be condemned to hell if you don't shut your mouth and accept it. Your purpose is served. Now you must wait to die and pray for my mercy.” “...”
“Good boy. I wish to see you soon in the afterlife.”
And with that, he opened his eye to his shrine. One he'd made in its image, so he could talk to it. So he could tell it all of the progress he'd made when it wasn't in his body, controlling his movements, his sensations, his words… this shrine meant nothing. The temple meant nothing, his world meant nothing without his Lord in it.
