Halloween
"Minnie! Minnie please!" Priscilla ran up to her favorite professor with Harry hot on her tail.
"What is it, Miss Black?" She sighed as she collected permission slip forms from the other third years.
"Could you sign me and Harry's form?" She gave her best puppy dog eyes with a pout.
"I'm not your parent or guardian, you two. It would be inappropriate for me to do so," she frown, feeling bad. "I am sorry."
"But Harry's parents are dead and the people he lives with are just plain old rude! Let's not even talk about the fact I have no idea who my mother is or if she's even alive and my father is a raging lunatic," the girl talked a mile a minute as Harry smacked her arm for her to stop talking. "I mean, I could go wondering the grounds in hopes he pops up. Before he kills me, I'll be sure to ask him to sign my slip!"
"Miss Black, if you don't want detention, I'd suggest walking away. You are not allowed outside of school grounds until Sirius Black is captured," McGonagall turned to Harry. "Same rules apply to you, Potter. Now off you go!"
Huffing in annoyance, the girl let the boy drag her back inside the castle after waving off Hermione and Ron.
"We'll bring you lots of treats!" Ron smiled, apologetically.
"Cherry flavored?" She tilted her head.
"What else would I bring?" He laughed, walking off with Hermione.
"Way to bring up dead parents, Dove," Harry scuffed with a slight smirk.
"Well I thought if I played that card, she'd sign it!" She flew up her hands in defense.
"What do you want to do today? It's Halloween, your favorite holiday," Harry cheered her up. He had been doing so for the past few weeks.
Ever since the boggart incident, students had been looking at her like she was just as crazy as her father. Some even showed pity and she thought that was worse than people fearing her.
"Let's go paint up in the astronomy tower."
Harry nodded his head, "Okay, well you go get the supplies and I'll go get snacks from the kitchens."
"Meet you there!" The two split off in different directions.
Priscilla loved to paint even though she was forbidden to do so at her house because it was a muggle hobby, she did it here at Hogwarts. Mostly landscapes but last year she drew a portrait of herself, Harry, Ron and Hermione. It was marvelous and Ron had the idea of hanging it in the hall full of portraits that led to the Gryffindor tower. Even though her painting didn't move like the rest, she still felt proud that they'd always be there...hung up on the wall for generation after generation to see.
As Harry began his journey towards the kitchens, he spotted Professor Lupin. He wanted to thank him for helping out Priscilla the other week and thought this was the best time. The girl would take longer than him anyways since she had to run up to her dormitory then towards the other side of the school where the astronomy tower was located.
"Professor!" Harry called out, jogging over to him as he stood outside on one of the bridges.
"Hello, Harry." Lupin called out. "How are you today?"
"I'm alright, I don't mean to interrupt your day off. I was just coming to thank you for helping Priscilla."
"It was nothing, that girl has been through so much," he sighed. "So have you. You two are good for each other."
