Let Me Show You How To Live

"Sorry about the bite. I reckon that twinges a bit," Sirius spoke up from behind the group trying to help Ron out of tunnel.

"A bit? A bit? You almost tore my leg off!" He stuttered, wincing as Hermione and Priscilla helped him walk.

"I was going for the rat," he explained. "Normally, I have a very sweet disposition as a dog. More than once, James suggested that I make the change permanent. The tail I could live with. But the fleas, they're murder."

Priscilla held in her chuckle as they came out in front of the frozen Whomping Willow. She was nervous around him, all of the sudden not knowing how to act. As they all were outside, her and Harry watched him walk down the hill to look at the castle.

"You both go," Hermione nodded her head towards the man.

"It's fine. I'll stay," Priscilla replied.

"You go, I'll stay," she sternly told her friend.

"You okay?" Harry asked Ron who sat against the tree.

"I'm fine. Go," he waved them on.

As Harry and Priscilla walked a few feet away they both stopped as they stared down at the man.

That looks really painful," they over heard Hermione.

"So painful," Ron began to exaggerate. "They might chop it."

"I'm sure Madam Pomfrey will fix it in a heartbeat."

"It's too late. It's ruined. It'll have to be chopped off."

Harry and Priscilla lightly chuckled and rolled their eyes at his antics.

"Hey, look at me, Dove," Harry swayed his hip, bumping into the girl staring off into the distance.

Priscilla looked slightly up at the boy, noticing the scratches on his cheek first then to his emerald eyes already looking into her own.

"Go talk to him," he whispered nodding towards her father a few yards away looking at the castle.

"I'm scared," her voice was just as low.

"Of?"

She swallowed the lump in her throat. She didn't know how to explain her scattered thoughts as she looked at the back of Sirius.

What if he's just as bad as Walburga?

What if he's worse?

Or what if all her grandmother had told her was all lies? She didn't know the first thing about Sirius until Lupin had told her.

What if he's exactly what she had been looking for her entire life?

Love.

The type of love that only came from a parent.

What if he didn't even want to be her parent anymore?

It had been twelve years after all.

Maybe it was too late for them.

She thought herself ruined and not enough. Maybe he would think so too and not want anything to do with her after tonight. She couldn't blame him, he watched her almost kill a man.

"Don't run away from something like this," he disturbed her self sabotage.

"And what could this even be, Harry?" She rolled her eyes but knew he was right.
