Katniss' POV:My nightmare is coming true. How could I be so stupid? I knew my whole life that bringing children into this world was a bad idea.
But I let Peeta convince me.
Oh, Peeta. Poor Peeta. I've been worrying so much on my own that I didn't even think about how Peeta is feeling right now.
By now, Annie, Finn, Jo, and Maica have went back home to their districts.
Jo, Annie, and I have talked everyday since we found out about the Quell Request.
Peeta and I have been babying the kids with giving them gifts and letting them have friends over and such.
There's one thing I'm sure I want this world; having my family happy with me. I don't want to take favor in one child. I love both of them dearly.
It's 10am and I am getting Willow in her Reaping outfit that I had specially made just for her. She deserves the best.
She comes out of her room and twirls around to show off her dress. It's beautiful, just like her.
"It's stunning! I love it! Thanks, Mom." She says running up to me to give me a big hug.
"I'm glad you like it. Willow, if you get chosen, remember that your family loves you. I love you. Your father loves you. Your brother. Just remember that for me, will you?" I ask, teary-eyed.
She pulls out of the hug. "Yes. I love all of you. Do we need to get on the train?" She asks.
"Yes. We should think about leaving. Peeta! Rye! Come on, we need to go!" I yell, so that I get their attention.
"Okay. We are coming. Go ahead and say bye to Haymitch and Effie for me." Peeta yells back.
"Ok, honey. Meet you at the train station." I say.
We walk out of the door and to Haymitch's porch and see him and Effie walking out the door.
"Hello, sweethearts! We thought we might say bye before we left, but you beat us to it. Where's lover boy and lover boy jr.?" Haymitch asks, humorously.
"They were at the house when we left. We were going to meet them at the train station. How are you guys doing?" Willow says.
"We are great! Even more so since you sweet ladies are here!" Effie chirps happily.
"Shall we walk to the station?" I ask the three in front of me.
"Yes, dear. Wouldn't want to be late, would we?" Effie asks.
"Nope. Let's go." Haymitch says.
We get on the train to be greeted by Peeta and Rye.
"You guys ready?" Peeta asks us.
"I'll never be ready to let my family go, but I guess I have to. I have no choice, right?" I say annoyed.
About 15 minutes later, the train starts to move.
-------------------------------------------
"We're here, Willow." I say as I wake her.
"Okay." She says tiredly, while sitting up.
We start to get off the train, directed by peacekeepers because of the obnoxious crowd of Capitol people trying to touch us.
"Victors, this way. Family, that way." A woman peacekeeper says, respectively, while pointing.
"We love you, okay?" I say to Rye, my hands on his shoulders.
He nods. "Okay. I love you, too." He adds.
Peeta comes over and comforts him. I go over to Willow. She looks.... I don't know.
"Willow, listen to me. You stay safe, okay. If you get reaped, we will be in the mentors lounge. Come to me and your father and we will further teach you. Got it?" I ask, with glossy eyes.
She nods.
We go our separate ways from our kids. Peeta and I interlock hands while we stand temporarily before we go on the stage.
We stand by District 11's victors who have a family some where in the crowd of victors children.
Oh, and I forgot to mention. The only reason we had to say bye to Haymitch and Effie was because they were hosting this years Quell. They would read out the names of the victors and which family member would go in.
They come onto the stage and the crowd stays silent.
"We come out here today to celebrate the 4th and final Quarter Quell. Here's a video from President Paylor herself!" Effie says with her bubbly self.
We watch the video, which is useless, and the official reaping starts.
District by district victors' children and siblings, between the ages 12-18 are chosen.
"Victor--Annie Odair; Tribute--Finn Tai Odair." Haymitch says, full of sadness.
Finn walks up there and I hear gasps and cries from the crowd of Capitol people. They know it's Finnick's son.
A few more districts go by and it's District seven's turn.
"Victor--Johanna Mason; Tribute--Jamaica Keeta Mason." Effie says, with her voice cracking.
I watch as Maica, confidently walks up to the stage with a smirk. Why? The Masons' are insane!
I suddenly hear Peeta's name as he slowly makes his way to the stage, towards the tributes. He stops and shakes hands with Haymitch and leans in to kiss Effie on the cheek.
"Victor-- Peeta Mellark; Tribute--..." We wait for Effie to finish her sentence as she starts sobbing. "Tribute-- Rye Mellark." She says into between sobs. Haymitch tries comforting her, but she runs of the stage.
"Well... That leaves one more victor." Haymitch says, emotionless.
I stand there now alone, being the last one to be called. Everyone in the crowd now stares at me, at my lonesomeness.
"Victor-- Katniss Everdeen-Mellark-" He stops as I begin my walk onto the stage. I look at the crowd of the victors family members and there is only 4 people other than Willow in the 17-year old section. "Tribute--Willow Mellark." He says, while a tear is streaming down his cheek.
Willow starts walking up to the stage, towards me. Once she reaches me, I engulf her in a huge hug. Peeta and Rye join a couple seconds later. Johanna and Maica come forward and join the group hug. Annie also comes in with Finn, Haymitch, and Effie, who has joined the stage once again.
The crowd,'awwwww's and starts crying even more, if that is even possible.
"Tributes head to the training room elevators, find your floor, and get ready for the Tribute Parade." Haymitch says weakly.
"And..." Effie starts. "May the odds ever be in your favor." She says with her Capitol voice cracking, once again.
