The longer the girl was gone the more nervous Taehyung became. Was something wrong? Should he have not come? There was a moment where he was positive he heard a door slamming shut and then a yell then it became quiet again. It served as a distraction for the mental turmoil going on inside.Stuffing his hands into his pockets to hide their shakes he closed his eyes, breathing in deep and exhaling, continuing this for a minute or two. For some reason he felt extremely nervous. This wasn't his first time asking someone out, not that he was. This wasn't a date. Far from it.
Jeongguk deserved more than an invite to a football match for a date.
But the nerves of who he was asking and what it all meant, the deeper meaning behind it all. Everything was weighing down on him and he couldn't help the anxiety that was becoming him as he prayed that Jeongguk would say yes. After all, he was the only one who deserved to wear his jersey. He'd be the only one too.
Soon he heard the door reopening and Jeongguk was emerging into the hall flashing him a shy apologetic smile.
"Sorry Tae for making you wait"
"H-huh?" What did he say? Too lost in the allure that was Jeon Jeongguk he missed what was said.
Jeon Jeongguk was wearing glasses.
Taehyung's mind short circuited at the sight. How long since he had seen his friend in a pair of specs? It had been awhile, too long at that. Taehyung had always loved how the other looked, so cute, even when they were younger he would tell him that. Jeongguk had always been self conscious of how he looked in a pair of glasses, but Taehyung loved it.
At the moment he had an epiphany. Jeongguk walking towards him, his finger pushing the glasses up higher on his nose and Tae realized that it had been him all along.
Every single one of his exes wore glasses. A coincidence? Couldn't be. Not when the root of it all was finally standing before him.
Is Jeongguk the reason he couldn't fall for those girls? The reason he would prefer them to wear their glasses anytime they were intimate? Was that it? He always believed he had some weird kink or preference but now he knew he had it all wrong. It wasn't the glasses. It was because of the boy who had always worn them.
"Tae?"
Jeongguk's hand waved in front of him, snapping him from his thoughts.
"Yeah, yeah I'm good. Sorry" he rubbed the back of his neck then held the bag in his free hand out, pushing it into Jeongguk's chest. "This is for you"
"For me?"
Jeongguk took it, eyes lighting with curiosity as he peeked into the bag. Finding a jersey like material inside he pulled it out. Unfolding it, all too aware of the intense gaze watching his every movement. The name KIM stood out in thick black letters, beneath it was the number seven. Jeongguk frowned, switching to look up at Tae, wondering why he was giving him his jersey.
"Why are you giving me this?"
"Well it's...I was..shit.." Jeongguk was surprised when Tae started stumbling over his words then cursing. "This Saturday is my last game, well hopefully not my last, there are scouts coming-.."
