"So what do you think?" Jeongguk looked up at the customer as he handed over the vodka soda.
"About?"
"Did you not hear anything I said doll?"
Doll?
Ew, absolutely not. Jeongguk detested that pet name. It was borderline offensive at best.
"I asked if after your shift I could take you back to mine? Hmmmm? What do you say doll? I could please you in ways that ain't ever happened before. Make you see stars." Giving Jeongguk a cocky grin that had his stomach swirling and not in a good way.
"No thanks. I'm busy later." He turned towards Junhee his coworker "Noona, I'm going to start my break now."
He just wanted, no needed, out of that conversation. The minute that man had walked up to the bar Jeongguk had felt something off from him. Something that had his gut telling him to stay away. The man wasn't ugly by any means, he was actually quite good looking and Jeongguk guessed he came from money judging from the pricey looking watch that sat on his wrist. But he couldn't place why he felt that he should be no where near this man.
As he stepped from behind the bar a hand wrapped itself around his upper arm, pulling him back into whoever was holding him. The instinct to free himself halted when the person opened his mouth. The voice that hit his ears was one he wasn't expecting. One he could only dream about lately.
"What are you doing here?" The tone was dark and gravely and Jeongguk flinched, knowing all too well who it was.
Someone he promised himself to forget.
But how?
Even after all these years he still felt so compliant, so submissive under this voice. There was a burning heat that was radiating from where he was being held. The skin-ship was one he had never forgotten. Frozen in place he moved his head, taking in the owner of the voice. Finally laying eyes on the one who held his heart, his soul.
Taehyung had grown and he'd grown good. Still beautiful and it pained to see him this way.
Why when he finally decides to move on did he have to appear before him? It was as if some devine power wanted him to suffer. As if they were dangling Taehyung in front of him saying you can look but you can't ever touch.
"And dressed liked that?" Jeongguk blinked at the question and when it finally registered in his brain what was going on he ripped his arm free from the others grip. Taking a step back needing the space, he finally looked up into Taehyung's eyes.
Maybe it was the way Taehyung was looking at him in disapproval or the way he had asked him these questions, Jeongguk didn't like it, it didn't sit well with him. It was painful in a way. Taehyung used to speak so calm, soft and sweet to him, never raising his voice. Now it was different. It was like their past meant nothing.
Like Jeongguk meant nothing.
"What's that supposed to mean? I work here." He wanted to say more but was cut off by Taehyung's glare. Making him feel small and somewhat ashamed of how they were meeting here. Taehyung judging him didn't help his nerves.
"I see that. But does your mother know you work here? I'm pretty sure she'd have a heart attack seeing her son dressed like this. So provocatively, as if begging for attention, for someone..." he didn't need to finish, Jeongguk understood perfectly well what he was hinting at.
What the hell? Jeongguk's mind was racing and his heart clenched at the words Taehyung used. He wasn't asking for anyone or anything. Yes, his outfit was a little revealing. But that was the dress code and he got good tips if his pants were a little too tight. So what if the shirt he wore fit him like a second skin. So what if it was white in color and sheer. So what if it didn't leave much to the imagination. The pay was good and Jeongguk needed the money.
