Jungkook fell in love when he was thirteen. Possibly it wasn't love until much later but to him he'd tell you it was love.
At the time he was in a dark place in his life. Having just lost both of his parents and now starting over in a new city where he knew no one was almost too much for his soul to take. And then he saw him. Or more like the other had shouldered past him, nearly knocking him over. As he steadied himself from falling a deep voice called back an apology, he didn't see the face of whoever basically ran him over but he saw his backpack. The thing was covered in odd patches and pins.
It wasn't until two weeks later where he saw the bag again and this time the owner too.
To Jungkook it was love at first sight.
That love at first sight could be passed off as merely attraction. Jungkook would purposely take the long route to class just to pass by the upperclassmen's room, all for the chance of seeing the one who had gained his attention. The attraction soon led to infatuation which developed into an intense amount of love. He was truly in love. The only problem was that the one who captured his heart didn't know he existed. Or so he thought.
Kim Taehyung became intrigued halfway through his second year of middle school. Everyday like clockwork a tiny little bean with pink cheeks and round eyes would walk by his classroom doorway. By the color of his tie he was a first year, why he was on their floor, that is what interested him. Soon the game of finding out who the kid was there to see turned into the hope that it was him.
There was something about the first year that drew him in, like a moth to flame. If it were the cute little ravenette, Taehyung would gladly burn himself. To him it was the allure that the younger carried. He found himself wondering what it would be like to talk to him, to hear his voice say his name.
It could be said that Jungkook fell first but Taehyung fell harder.
For soon the elder would start making his own journeys down the first year halls. Purposely slowing down, maybe even passing by twice on occasion, all in front of a certain raven haired boys class just to be noticed.
They never spoke once in two years. Not until Tae's middle school graduation when the doe eyed boy came right up to him. His cheeks were coated in a deep blush, his hands fisting the sides of his shirt as his head was kept down, bottom lip gnawed on relentlessly.
If Taehyung thought that angels didn't exist before he was proven wrong right then and there.
The boy opened his mouth, the cutest stutter that came with it that wished Taehyung luck in the future. That was all, a simple good luck for his future studies. But it was enough because when the boy ran away Taehyung knew that he would have the boy by his side one way or another.
And he was correct.
One year later Taehyung watched the beautiful ravenette walk the steps to his high school. A coincidence? Who knows?
This time it was Taehyung who approached the younger. He asked him to be his then and there.
And of course, Jungkook said yes.
Fast forward four years. Four beautiful years of being together for it all to come crashing down on one night.
College was rough and the cost wasn't easy, therefore Taehyung's eldest brother, Jin, had come up with the idea of getting a share house together. Taehyung's best friend Jimin had agreed and even brought along his boyfriend Yoongi. There was six of them in total.
Jungkook felt like he had a family again. To him the five were his family, the most important people to him. He never would have imagined that they'd turn their backs on him, that they'd leave him when he needed them most. And the only one who believed him, who took his side and defended him was the one he least expected.
