Chapter 9

The next morning you woke up in your mom and mamas bed but you were alone. Neither one of them were there with you, you immediately sat up and started to panic and call their names.

"Mom? Mama?" You called out trying to shout but you failed. Your chest started to get tight and you started crying but before it got even worse your mom come through the door and seen you sat there panicking and crying. She immediately come over, sat on the bed and pulled you in for a tight hug.

"Its okay baby, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere" Maya expressed. You wrapped your arms around her tightly and slowly let yourself relax. The smell of her shampoo coming from her hair, the floral smell of perfume coming from her neck and her warm skin holding you close. After a few minutes you were fully relaxed and slowly pulled away.

"I'm sorry, I just got scared when I woke up alone. I thought you and mama had left and I know you wouldn't but these voices in my head get loud sometimes and I sometimes can't quieten them down." You expressed

"Hey, you don't need to explain yourself okay. I'm here for whatever you need and I'm not going anywhere okay? If me and mama need to reassure you numerous times a day then we will okay, I promise you" Maya responded cupping your face

"Thankyou mom, but uh can I ask you something?" You stated

"Of course baby" Maya responded

"Your job mom" You replied. Your mom looked down to the floor not knowing what to say. "I can see how much you miss it mom, don't let me be the reason holding you back from doing the thing you love. I want you to talk to Sullivan today and ask him can you have your job back" You expressed

"But baby, you need me more then I need firefighting" Maya replied looking you in the eye.

"And I've got you mom, and I always will. Don't hold back because of me so will you talk to him today? Please?" You asked holding her hand

"Okay baby, I'll talk to him" Maya responded with a smile on her face. "Do you want to come along to the station too? Mama is going there too today" Maya added

"I was already planning on going anyways, I'm meeting up with Diane today so she can give me coping and breathing techniques for my panic attacks" You replied. Maya looked at you with a big smile on her face, "I'm so incredibly proud of you baby" . You pulled her in for a tight hug and responded "I'm so proud of you too mom". The hug went on for a little longer and Carina came by the door and seen you both in each others arms. You noticed her, "Come on mama, you too" You stated holding out an arm for her to join the hug. Carina joined the hug and in that moment, there was no worries, anxiety or tension. Just pure love that you have all been dying to feel for the past few weeks.

Time when on and you all headed to the station. You got there and made your way up to the kitchen. As soon as you walked in, Your uncle Trav and Aunt Andy come up to you and gave you the biggest hug.

"You feeling okay after the other night?" Andy asked

"Yeah, I'm okay. Thankyou both for that night, I really do appreciate it" You responded

"Hey kiddo, you don't need to thank us. Its what we are here for. We're family and we would do anything for family" Travis answered. You let go of their hug and made your way towards the kitchen to where everyone was including Diane.

"I'm glad to see you here Luc" Diane quoted. You looked at her giving her a little smile. "Uh guys, I just wanted to apologise for the other day when I shouted at you all. It was wrong of me to do when that's all you were trying to do was help me so I'm sorry"

"You don't need to apologise Luc, your going through a rough patch and these things happen. You should have seen me when I had a breakdown, I screamed at everyone here" Vic said laughing. You laughed with her a little. "I know I don't need to but, It makes me feel better knowing I have apologised" You responded. Everyone looked at you and smiled.
