The tournament was just one week away and Kari was excited as she made sure everything she needed was packed. Kari let out a small sigh and looked at her check list.
"Cloths, check. Deck and cards, check. Money, check. Shower stuff, check... Hmmm other things like phone and books, check. Oh... This thing." Kari thought then picked up a note book "I'll pack this just in case. Probably won't need it though..." Kari packed the black leather note book and smiled at a job well done.
"Kari! Your friends are here to see you!" Kitearo called and Kari rushed to the living room and smiled. "They came to tell you about this tournament thing. Since this is your first one." Kitearo blinked then waked away to the kitchen. "I'll be elsewhere."
"Kay, thanks Kite." Kari smiled and Kitearo shrugged. Kari sat down and looked at her friends. "So, what's with this tournament?" She asked with a tilt of her head. Yugi blinked and then began to explain.
"Well, we leave tomorrow by boat then we stay on that and train and stuff until we arrive on an island. We then have appointed rooms and cabins and stuff that are kind of like safe zones. The next day the tournament starts, each day the rules are different and we are there on the island for a few weeks. So yeah, we also have qualifying rounds to get past as well." Yugi explained as best as he could. Kari nodded.
"Gotcha..." She replied with a nod and everyone went out for one last training round then to just hang out.
----- Next day, afternoon -----
"Bye Kari!" Boom said as Kari put on her silver knap sack and went out the door holding her blue pillow and sleeping bag that looked like her shirt. Kari smiled at Boom and giggled.
"See ya Kari." Beats waved and Kitearo smirked.
"Oh don't do it...." Kari thought with a small glare. "Oh don't do it!"
"Bye tiny!" Kitearo snickered as he waved, using Kari's childhood nickname.
"Oh my god!" Kari thought. "BRUH!!!" Kari yelled in annoyance and the three boys went into a laughing fit. "Seriously! It's bad enough that the shortest guy I know is taller than me!" Kari growled and the boys began to calm down and Kari sighed then left, going to the park to meet everyone, her face red with embarrassment and anger.
"Mornin Kat." Joey greeted first upon seeing Kari.
"Hey kiddo, what happened? Your face's all red." Tristan blinked, a little confused. Kari sighed and looked away, pulling up her hoodie.
"Nooooottthhhiiinn....." She replied and Tea squeaked and grabbed Kari.
"You're too cute Kari!" She called, holding Kari close as the small girl began to struggle.
"T-TEA!!!" Kari grumbled and eventually got free of Tea's grip and looked around. "Where are Atem and Yugi?" She asked and Joey shrugged along with everyone else. "And how are we getting to th train station?"
"Oh, Mai Valentine'll be driving us." Tea smiled and Kari went wide eyed in slight fear. "What?"
"I don't think Kari's a people-person, remember how she acted when she first arrived?" Tristin said and Tea gasped, feeling a little bad. Soon Yugi and Atem walked up and waved.
"We're here." Yugi smiled and high fived Kari, who was still shaken. "Ok, who told her?" He asked and everyone pointed to Tea. "Well, at least she knows now." Yugi sighed. The sound of an engine soon caught everyone's attention, then another.
"Hey gang!" Called a blond woman with a smile.
"Sup guys." Called a boy with black spikey hair. Kari about had a heart attack as she went stiff.
