Chapter 1. Who Is Him?

Hiccups POV.

"You've done it! You get to kill the dragon!!" Gobber cheered at me. Fishlegs picked me up and put me on his shoulders. Nearly all of Berk was gathered around the arena applauding at me. I glanced at dad and saw a wide smile plastered across his face.
"Great! I'am so......"

At The Cove.

"Leaving. Yep we're leaving. Let's pack up and take a little vacation.....forever." I sighed as I placed down my bag of necessities. I wasn't very strong, so carrying a bag of clothes, books, and spare leather was a bit of a struggle. Suddenly I heard what sounded like rock against metal. The noise made me stumble back and look up. Astrid, my lifetime crush, was sharpening her axe as she rested on a large boulder.
"Um....wha.....what are....you doing here?" I stammered.
"I wanna know what's going on? No one gets as good as you. Especially you! Start talking. Are you training with someone? It better not involve this!" She grabbed my flight suit top. I looked in her eyes and saw pure rage for me beating her in dragon training.
"What me? Training with someone?" I tried to lighten the mood. That's when I heard a a branch brake. Astrid looked up and pushed me to the ground, stepping on me in the meantime.
"Oh no....." I muttered, knowing it was Toothless. I jumped up and ran in front of Astrid.
"Alright. I'm through with the lies. I've been making outfits! So....there you go. Drag me around.....oww!!!! Why would you do that?!" I gasped in pain as Astrid flicked my arm backwards, making me fall on the ground, again!
"That's for beating me!" She growled. She then dropped the handle of her double-sided axe on my chest.
"And that's for everything else!" I'm sure she would have hurt me more but a roar came from the other side of the cove. Toothless came bounding out and straight for Astrid.
"Get down!" She shouted pushing me down under her. I slid out from under her, grabbing her axe and throwing it to side, and I ran to Toothless. He tried to pass me but I kept pushing his head back.
"Calm down!" I tried to calm him.
"You just scared him, that's all." I explained hurriedly to a terrified and confused Astrid.
"I scared him! Who is him?"
"Astrid meet Toothless. Toothless, Astrid." I introduced them to each other. Toothless snarled at Astrid. Astrid on the other hand just shook her head and ran away.
"Dun dana. We're dead. Whoa whoa......and where do you're think your going?" I asked an annoyed Toothless.

Astrid's POV.

I turned and ran. I didn't know where I was running too, I just let my legs carry me. Over logs and around rocks. I was just about to land after jumping off a log but something grabbed me around my right arm. I screamed and looked up. That Night Fury that Hiccup called Toothless was carrying me above the tree tops. Hiccup was mounted on top! Suddenly Toothless dropped me on a branch and landed on one next to me himself.
"Hiccup! Get me down from here!" I ordered him.
"Astrid please...."
"I am not interested in anything you have to say!" I interrupted him.
"Then I won't speak. Just let me show you. Please Astrid." Hiccup held his hand out to me. I realised that there was no way I was getting out of this. So I climbed up the branch, pushed Hiccup's hand away, and mounted up behind him.
"Now, just get me down." I asked nervously.
"Toothless, gently." Hiccup ordered. Toothless expanded his wings and the wind made him glide into the air.
"See? Nothing to worry about....." Hiccup turned and faced me but suddenly Toothless shot into the air. Since I wasn't holding Hiccup I was thrown back.
"Ahhhhhh!!" I screamed in terror. I was about to fall off but Hiccup leant back and I grabbed his waist. Now that I was sitting properly behind Hiccup and he was holding on to the saddle, I thought that Toothless couldn't or wouldn't do anymore flips or whatever. I was wrong. Toothless tucked in his right wing and we plummeted to the ocean and in it. He dived out and in few times before shooting off towards the sky again, and then diving back towards the sea.
"Thank you for nothing you useless reptile." Hiccup scowled.
"Okay. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Just get me off this thing." I hugged hiccup and begged with my life to get off the dragon. Toothless suddenly opened his wings and glided peacefully through the clouds. I looked up and reached with my hand to touch the clouds. I could sense that Hiccup was smiling. Toothless took us above the clouds and then dived slowly back below them to reveal Berk. I smiled when I saw it.
"Alright. I admit it, this is pretty amazing. He's amazing." I leaned forward and rubbed Toothless's head.
"So what now? Hiccup, your final exam is tomorrow you know your gonna have to kill......kill the dragon." I whispered the last part so that Toothless wouldn't hear me.
"Don't remind me." Hiccup complained. Suddenly Toothless raised his head and swooped down into some fog. I couldn't see anything. A Nightmare suddenly appeared next to us, Toothless swerved but a Hideous Zippleback came up on his other side.
"Get down!" Hiccup whispered. Within a few seconds hundreds of dragons were flying along with us.
"Get us out of here bud!" Hiccup leaned down to Toothless's head. He shook it away. Hiccup noticed that the dragons were carrying food.
"It looks like they're hauling in their kill."
"Umm.........what does that make us?" He probably would have replied but Toothless dived down and we looked up and saw a huge volcano. Unfortunately for us the dragons were flying into it. Hiccup and I screamed as we flew in. Toothless flapped over the centre of the volcano and around behind a rock where he landed. We watched as dragon after dragon dropped their food down the hole.
"Well it's satisfying to know that all our food is dumped down a hole." Hiccup said sarcastically. Just then a Gronckle flew over and regurgitated a small fish into the hole. Thinking he'd done a good thing the Gronckle scratched himself happily. A deep growl echoed out the hole and suddenly this huge head the size of a mountain came out of the larva hole and ate the Gronckle whole.
"What is that?!" My eyes nearly fell out of my head. Hiccup didn't answer. Instead he bent down to Toothless.
"Toothless! Get us out of here!"
Toothless shot out and up the volcano. Every single other dragon followed us.

Back at the Cove.

"No! It totally makes sense. That's their queen and their her workers. C'mon let's go find your dad!" I turned to run but Hiccup grabbed me.

Hiccup's POV.

I grabbed Astrid.
"No. He'll hurt Toothless. We have to think this one through." I walked away deep in thought.
"Hiccup! We have just found the Dragons nest. Something that Vikings have wanted to find for generations. And you want to keep it a secret because of your pet dragon, are you serious?!"
"Yes."
"Well. Okay. What do you want to do?" She asked more calmly.
"Just....just give me till tomorrow. I'll think of something." I mumbled. She suddenly punched me in the shoulder.
"That's for scaring me!" She had a smirk on her face. She then kissed me.
"And that's for....everything else." She then ran off. I glanced at Toothless who happened to be right behind me.
"And what are you looking at?" He purred at me.
