Mara sat silently in her office, looking over different visions of Leviathan. She never took her eyes off of him even after he so rudely left.

"And the boy learns..." she muttered menacingly as she gazed upon the vision of her son realising what she had done. Even after everything, no matter what she did, he was her son. There was a time where she was a good mother. But that time hadn't existed for a long while.

"𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘢, 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶..." 𝘢 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩.

"𝘠𝘦𝘴, 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦?" 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘥-𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘳.

Mara shook the memory out of her mind - only to be met with more rushing back to her.

"𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘪𝘮?" 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘰𝘺 𝘸𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘣𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘵.

The siren once again struggled to forget that moment all those years ago.

𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘸𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘴𝘰𝘯.

Mara felt a lump in her throat as she remembered her family.

"𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦... 𝘐 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳."

"𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘺?" 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯'𝘴 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴.

As all of the memories came back to the siren, she started to ponder what her old love would think of her now. Would she still love her?

"No, definitely not." Mara whispered. Afterall, she was a terrible mother. That woman let Mara take their child because she thought he would be protected. Instead, she just made it worse. She was a goddess. Out of everyone, she should be able to push through grief. The grief of her love. Leviathan didn't deserve her... He deserved so much better and she still hurt him.
