"Posturang-postura ka ngayon, Miss, a? May date ka siguro pagkatapos ng trabaho."
I think it was an open secret that I am seeing someone at the moment, and I wasn't hiding it either. Sa tuwing bumibisita rito si Ven, hindi na niya kailangan pang maghintay sa'kin sa lobby. He can go straight to the office and stay for a while. Ilang buwan na ring lumalabas ako na kasama siya.
I am not shy or embarrassed about going out with him. I am confident and not confused when I am with Ven, probably because he clearly stated his intentions of dating me even if it means he has to wait.
Pero hindi na rin naman masyadong matagal ang paghihintay niya sa'kin. I am about to graduate next year, hindi na 'yon matagal at desidido na rin akong ipakilala siya.
Actually, he's going to meet my family tonight. Despite telling him that I want to start dating after I graduate, there's a part of me that I don't want to lose the chance that someone truly likes me and is willing to wait.
Natatakot ako na baka magbago ang isip niya. Kaya... hangga't maaari, gusto kong makilala na niya ang pamilya ko.
Ahia was not oblivious about it as well. He kept silent but didn't show any approval yet.
It's fine with me. Hindi ko naman minamadali ang sarili ko. I am trying to have the same intensity of affection as Venencio Samson. He's a good guy and a potential partner too.
Ginawaran ko ng maliit na ngiti si Angelique. "Ven's going to pick me up tonight. Pupunta kami sa Tagaytay."
"Bakit ang layo naman?" she maliciously eyed me.
"He's going to meet my parents, Angelique."
"Ay!" panandalian niyang tinakpan ang bibig dahil sa gulat. "Akala ko ba hindi pa kayo?"
"Hindi pa nga."
"Pero meet the parents na agad?"
I shrugged. "I just like it that way, Angelique."
"Samantalang kami noon ni Kent, nagtatago pa kami sa social media! Tapos kayo, hindi pa official pero ipapakilala na agad."
"I already met his parents as well. They like me," I told her.
"Ang bilis naman. Mukhang sigurado ka na sa kanya, Miss."
Ngumiti na lang ulit ako.
Ramadan ko rin ang bilis ng pangyayari pero gusto ko naman at masaya ako kay Ven.
A slight memory of Suriel suddenly flashed in my mind but I hastily diverted my attention and just did my thing.
I stayed in the lounge area while waiting for Ven to arrive. Mayroon pa kasi siyang klase pero diretso naman siya rito sa Makati para sunduin ako. I assured Ven that he didn't need to bother bringing something for my family but he told me that he still bought wine and a bouquet of flowers.
He opened the car door for me. He looked dashing and comfortable with his khaki knitted sweater and loose pants. He had his hair cut. Bagay na bagay sa kanya ang bago niyang gupit.
Ven held the side of my waist and bent a little to place a soft kiss on my cheek before he flashed a cute grin.
"Let's go?"
I smiled and slid inside the car.
Before he could ignite the engine to drive away from the basement, I called his name. "Ven..."
"Yeah?"
I held his chin. My eyes stayed on his lips for quite a long time. My eyes fluttered as I gazed at his beautiful eyes, shaped like mine that twinkle so dearly.
